It's a Victorian-flavored (although the sexual mores are a bit more ancient Greek) fantasy about a very naive sixteen year old Prince Temmin arriving at the royal capital to begin his formal training as the Heir at the hands of the mysterious, immortal Teacher and his magic history book. This is the first draft of what became Lovers and Beloveds--in a way. There were three original books in the series and when it came time to rewrite the first one I took all three apart and radically remixed them. This draft (and boy is it drafty) is no longer available, unless you are a patron of my site. I make you PAY for my shame! :D Nevertheless, a lot of people seemed to like it, as you can see from the reviews; I'm not going to insult them for liking it, but I think this draft is cringing

I am absolutely fascinated watching this story unfold. MeiLin is creating it as she goes, and even she has admitted that it sometimes takes an unforeseen turn. We're learning as she's learning! Mei is a very talented writer who really knows how to bring her readers in, and she also takes the time to keep us informed of what's going on in her world...which really does help keep her real.
