Much like "FISH!" this book is a fictional scenario meant to illustrate how their techniques can help you become a successful manager. The story centers around "the Entrepreneur" and "the One Minute Manager." Yes, that's the only way they're referred to in this volume, reminding me of the "Who Moved My Cheese" structure. Short, sweet, useful, and applicable for multiple aspects of life. Leader - check. Parent - check. Neighbor - check. The main point I grabbed out of this little book was the idea of situational leadership. It's one of those obvious things... that don't become obvious until you're fully using your 20/20 hind-sight-scope.

Blanchard discusses 4 Leadership Styles, 4 Follower Styles and how to partner for Performance. The first time I read it, I felt the talk on when to use reprimands was very good. This time, I was struck by the quote "Everyone is a potential high performer. Some people just need a little help along the way."
