Interesting (at times a bit dense) account of how the legendary poet Sappho has influenced writers and artists from the eighteenth century on. Only fragments of her poetry remain, leaving much room for the reimagining of who she was and what she wrote. We see Sappho through the eyes of those that came after her but she remains, forever, elusive.
