Beautiful illustrations. Delightful tales, which represent an earlier era. Good is beautiful and the evil characters are hideous. Good triumphs in each story.

These are great classic French fairy tales. Sometimes we get some pretty dud fairy tale books, stories that are just weird and irrelevant. But this one? Pretty much every story features a talking cat, which is great, and all the stories read well.

I actually only read the first (title) story, and flipped through the second. I wanted to see if Holly Black's White Cat was an allusion to this.

One of my all time favorite books. Read it as a child. Read it as a young adult. Read it as an adult. Read it to my child. It is timeless.

WHY: Another reviewer we know said, "Pretty much every story features a talking cat, which is great, and all the stories read well." Can't go wrong there. I hope it isn't too hard to find!

Some of the most feminine fairy tales I have ever read. I must say that I quite enjoyed them.
