2,5 stars.

I feel horrible for only giving it 2,5 stars, but I really can't give it a higher rating. So why do I feel horrible? Because I did enjoy it while reading. I really did. The thing is that it was way to short and shallow for e to give it even 3 stars. Sigh.

I loved the world build-up and the magic. I loved both Wyverns Court and Anhmik. I came to really like Nicias, Darius and Hai over the story, as well as many other characters. I even found an interest in a few m More...

what can i say my rating says it all....i didnt like it! it was boring and for me it was an agony finishing this book. the series started out good, the second book was tolerable and ok but this one i was just so depressed to continue it. i fell asleep while reading this book. i was so disappointed because i wanted to see what happen after the second book coz this third installment happened several years after. oliza (daughter of zane and danica) and nicias (son of kel rei) is all grown up. i w More...

This volume of the series takes place about 20 years after Snakecharm. It focuses on Nicias, a falcon, who is a Wyvern of Honor to Oliza, daughter and heir to Zand and Danica - the characters of the first two books.[return][return]Nicas finds that he is coming into his falcon magic and must go to Ahnmik - the land of the falcons - to learn to control it or have it bound. At Ahnmik, he finds a society far differenct from that of the snakes and birds, and doesn't necessarily like it.[return][re More...

Nicias is the son of 2 exciled falcons. He is raised in the Wyvern court with Oliza the heir to the Avian and Serpiente thrones. He is a loyal guard; however, he has started to demonstrate falcon magic and in order to protect the realm, his parents reluctantly send him back to Anhmik to have his powers bound. They failed to tell him that he is third in line for the falcon throne and that he would immediately be drawn in to dangerous political intrigue.
The book is a light read but has a More...

After finishing this book, a part of me wants to skip Wolfcry and go straight to Wyvernhail because I want to get to know Hai better. I can't do that though because I adore Oliza and I want to get to know her better too. I loved Nicias in this story. As of right now he's my favorite character. The story was still fantastic which is something I believe I've gotten used to. I enjoyed reading this book very much, and I hope we go back to the falcon world later because there seems to be some unfinis More...

The Kiesha'Ra series continues in this third installment in the saga of the avians and serpiente. Nicias Silvermead is the son of two banished falcons who serve the Wyvern's Court. When Nicias' falcon magic begins to manifest he returns to Ahnmik to learn to control his powers. There he finds himself involved in a power struggle between the Empress and her heir (his grandmother). Will he stay and rule in his homeland or will he honor his vow and return to Wyvern's Court to protect Oliza Shardae More...

In this one there wasn't as much action as there was in the others. It focused on magic, how it worked, the white city, and the history behind the races. The familiar Zane and Danica are just mentioned maybe a couple times. It sucked a little that we didn't even get that much of their child, the first mixture of serpent and hawk. Of course it is expected like that anyways with a little including falcon instead of wyvern. The falcon is the child of Andreios and Kel. So I had to put it one star do More...

The beginning of this book was a bit of a trial to get past. To me, the main character sounded a bit of a whiney, woe-is-me type which made it hard for me to find out WHY i wanted to care for this Nicias. Something i could not find a spark of, despite his parentage, for several chapters in, which means it's amazing I even made it through this book.

After several false starts over the past couple of years, I did finally manage to push myself to a point where I could feel intrigued by th More...

A little stale, and kinda confusing. A little boring because I wasn't sure what was happening, and we were thrust out of the world we came to know in book one and thrown into a completely different one with no compensation--the book felt a bit empty. However, I REALLY enjoyed the sense of tension and danger hidden behind the supposedly "sophisticated" walls of the falcon city, and I loved the main character. He was amazing. He honors the good he can see in his people, but is unafraid t More...

Falcondance is the third book in the Keisha'ra series. The entire series is an elaborate re-imagining of were-animal myths. After focusing on the Hawks and the Snakes, this book focuses on Nicias, a Falcon who is coming into his power untrained, which makes him dangerous.

Falcondance consists largely of world building. While taking into account the short length of the book (barely over 200 pages) and the fact that this is the third in the series, the amount of time spent learning abou More...

In this book, the series shifts focus with its narrators from Zane and Danica, to Nicias, a falcon born into the new world of Wyvern's Court, with the story finally giving us a glimpse at the all powerful and mysterious Falcons that we had only seen or heard about briefly in the previous books.

'Falcondance' elaborates further into the history of their people, with an important revelation to the start of the Avian/Serpiente War, as they (the Falcons) are the only ones old enough to re More...

It feels as though this book should be further along in the series to me. The first two books are about Danica and Zane and the second leaves it with Danica pregnant, and the design and building of the wyvern court. Then book 3 starts off 19 years later! And it is about Nicias and the daughter of Danica and Zane... It just didn't feel right to me. But, saying that, the story itself was interesting and an enjoyable read.

This book I thought was WAY better then the last one. After reading the last one I was reluctant to pick up this one but I really enjoyed it! In total I'd give it more 4.5 stars then 5 since it wasn't perfect but it was a great read to pick up. Again this is one of my shorter reviews since I'm in a hurry. ok please those of you that are reading this right now DO NOT read WolfCry I repeat do not. For such a clean series that book was very innapropriate.

I liked this book, but didn't love it. I still think that Hawksong is the strongest out of the series so far. I felt like the author wanted to try to write a book with out a strong love interest. I thought more would happen between Oliza and Nicias but nothing ever came of it at all. It was all about Nicias trying to figure out which group of people to stay true to. Needless to say I will only be reading this one once.

Was disappointed that this novel did not continue where Snakecharm left off. Expected more of a transition into this novel, but none was given; very abrupt and a partial let-down. I feel that this series could have been more. I will still read any upcoming novels; maybe they will shed some light on the empty parts of the series.

So this one is about on par with Snakecharm. It was good, but yet again a really fast read. I have to say that this series does hold my interest and each book is good enough to want to read the next one. I was hoping more of Oliza but Nicia takes up most of the book and he is only okay.

It switches the focus from the main characters of the previous two books to that of the next generation. While we get to explore a different part of this world I found myself unexcited, yearning for a continuation of the Danica and Zane stories. Therefore I was disappointed.

Continues to be a great series. One gets closer to the mysterious falcons. A thing I find fascinating about the series is that she writes each book from the perspective of a different character, while at the same time keeping things in chronological order. Much fun.

I know this book is part of a series, but it's the first one I read. I liked the book, but didn't love it. The characters were a little difficult to understand, maybe because I didn't read the books in order. I'm not certain--but they seemed shallow.

I still enjoy these books even though they seem to be drifting from the original story that I fell in love with. I miss the story being through a females eyes, because she doesn't seem to capture the persona of male characters as well as female.

Better than Snakecharm, but still missing something from the first one. Nicias's character is very powerful and his growth is interesting. The plot twists and explanation of past twists are slightly confusing but very intriguing none the less.

This book marks the jump to the next generation in the characters of the series. I like the view we get into the falcon society, and the narrator is pretty good, I just didn't like some of the relationships...the direction the author takes them.

This book takes place almost 20 years after the first two books, which was disappointing at first. But it was a better story than I expected, and obviously leads into the next one. So far the first book is still my favorite.

This book has a funny Yiddishe coincidence. Characters that are not pure falcon go insane and they are called shmeckel which means little ,if you excuse my french, dick. Atwater-Rhodes continues to weave a creative hybrid community.

Despite being my least favorite of the Keisha'ra series, this book still has a lot going for it. Nicias Silvermead is a great characters, though at first I feel cheated that this story is through his perspective and not the child of the main characters from the two previous books. However, without this story we wouldn't be able to meet Hai, who is the focalizer to book five. Though the story of the falcons has interesting aspects and it very important to the history of the serpents and avians, i More...
