It pains me to write this review, normally I'd just skip the book over and hope my silence made some sort of point, but I feel I must. I was incredibly disappointed in this book. The photos are generally horrid-- most are quite blurry-- and the example swatches look like as if they were cast-off moments before the photo shoot. The projects all feel to be the same thing and to be at a basic level. There are many reversible techniques out there and Schreier seems to have picked the most basic ones

I should start off by saying I don't really even get why anyone would do one of the two techniques described in this book. One technique, making a fabric that just looks good on both sides by how you stitch, that makes sense and is why I picked up the book. The other, double-stitching where you have a double-set of stitches on a needle and work both sides at once, just sounds like a lot more work and challeng then simply knitting two sides and sewing them together. I took a knitting class on "knitting one below," a specific knitting technique that is one of the reversible knitting techniques, as is brioche, and became intrigued with the look and the concept.
This book had been recommended to me as being more general and versatile than either "knitting one below" or brioche so I wanted to look it over. I didn't think that it enunciated the different techniques very clearly, or maybe it's just that they pretty much look the same More...

I had higher expectations from this book. It was okay, but not quite as grand as I was hoping. All of the yarn was Artfibers, which I probably should have guessed, but I didn't! There are some nice techniques, still.

I think this is best of Iris' books. She uses her unusual technique in different ways.
