This book is one of the worst pieces of academic literature I have ever read. It is poorly written, confusing, and lacks any clear organization. I forced myself to read it for a paper I was writing on the subject, but I ended up getting most of my insight on the international aspect of foreign intervention in the 1860 Maronite-Druze massacre from Traboulsi's "A History of Modern Lebanon".
