be carried anywhere you go and to be readed as your new experience in life
There are a lot of insights of human life that I can learn from this amazing book...I love the way he wrote all of the stories which were contained of enchanting messages for anyone who read it, especially me. It helps me smile, wrinkle my eye brows whenever I didn't get the point yet of one story, helps me passing my day, even when I got stuck by the traffic jam.

I sort of regret reading through this so fast – I wonder if it would be better to read a story a night, to contemplate the simple yet profound messages Coelho preaches in each one. As with his other works, he refers to one’s “Personal Legend” and “Warriors of Light” and discusses the language everyone can understand and the “Soul of the World.” Likewise, from “Self-Deception” and stories about self-doubt and comparing oneself to others, he writes about confidence and peace in the present moment...more

This is a book about author's experiences and the wisdom gained with them. Now he is trying to pass around the same wisdom to the readers..Book is nicely written without trying to be in the "right vs wrong" kind of tone. Messages are subtly put,one reason I could finish the book without feeling patronized.

الكثير من الأفكآر الملهمة لفهم الحيآة بشكل أعمق أحببت فيه عبارات كثيره

This is a great book of meditations large and small in the form of stories and true vignettes from the life of the author. I recommend keeping it on your nightstand and reading just one or two stories before you go to bed--you'll sleep well. If you are familiar with Coelho's works, you'll recognize the "warrior of the light" and the reference to "personal legends" (see The Alchemist). Oh how I wish I was Team Coelho. To be among those of superior spiritual understanding able to derive meaning in a solitary piece of coal... How much more fulfilling my mediocre life would be. Alas, I am not. The main reason is his supremely irritating way of addressing readers in the same way I imagine Sunday-school teachers address the natives on their missionary gap year. مقالات كتبت بين عامي ١٩٩٨ و ٢٠٠٥ تحمل في طياتها قيم إنسانية كثيرة جداً
وهي مرحلة مهمة في حياة باولو الكاتب .. بحيث تفسر لنا فلسفته ومدى جمال حرفة في هذه المقالات
الكتاب جميل جداً / يستحق القراءة مرات عديدة

I read this book about two years ago. Yeah it's been a long time but I remember I liked it. I liked almost every little story. I was even ready to look for another book of Coelho, but unfortunately, I had no time. Unfortunately ... or not ... because a time after, I heard so bad reviews about Coelho's books that I didn't want to read more from this author. Of course I tried to start up with "The alchemist" but it didn't match. Maybe it was a bad timing, maybe my mind was made up .... anyway, I'l...more
I actually quite like it a lot, for starters. Well, it's not really an actual "book"---you know, with a main plot or or something, since it's merely a collection of short stories, but a must-read, nonetheless. It reminds me of a particular series of books I used to read when I was younger, written by a priest named Fr. Jerry Orbos, that are also filled with a lot of interesting/odd/funny short stories that turns out to actually mean something deeper or mean something inspirational. :)

A collection of amazing short stories! I loved many of them and they are absolutely awesome. Some give some values and some are just written for the pleasure of reading. Some of the stories which I liked are The Dead Man who wore Pajamas, The Devil's Pool, The Story of a Pencil, etc. These are some of the stories which I like from the many I loved. The book consists of short stories and tales by Paulo Coelho. The stories are very uplifting (even if all are not happy and joyous) and spiritual and most are things that have happened to him on his journeys, or legends and tales he has heard from people he's met. Some are just thoughts and views that have been born in his mind triggered by everyday life or his surroundings.

I have been searching for this book quite some time ago. When i finally found it with quite a cheap price, i bought it directly. I started to read it about a month ago, or so, and i just finished it today. I'm seriously liking this book, because i think, this book helped me to think more and learn more about life.
