I think it's from the best resources to begin learning BI as first part is independent from Microsoft the writer talks about BI in general, levels of Managements, Reports types, and designing Data Marts, and LifeCycle of any BI solution.
Then talks about how to gather information and the requirements from your client, how to apply every phase using Microsoft technologies especially he concentrates on Cubes, MDX, Mining then finally talks about how to deliver your BI solution beside how can we use

This book really helped me understand the world of business intelligence when I was thrown into a project head first. I learned to swim and the resulting work is being heralded at my company. I did not get to use all of the tools to their fullest (such as Integrated Services), but I hope to go back some day and pick up more skill with the tool. The introduction it gave to Analysis Services and Reporting Services, as well as the concept of building OLAP database structures and cubes is invaluable ...more
