An amusing surprise! Probably would fit into the "geezer lit" category I've stumbled upon (and like). The protagonist is a baby boomer recently moved into a retirement development. Had some belly laughs as the descriptions of the goings-on, as my sister lives in a place just like this (the author must live in one ... pretty hysterical). The mystery was a bit outlandish, but in keeping with the tongue-in-check tone of the novel. I would describe it as a cozy mystery for baby boomers
