way back before mexicans who crossed the southern us border became red-blooded america's favorite whipping boy, AH chronicled stories from the entire 2000 miles. try to hold the '86 hardback-- it's sweeping photos that let you remember a time when it seemed that line was just about to disappear. AH is an insightful, wel-traveled author who writes on an amazing array or topics. check out his books on american neocons, social dislocation, and the depletion of the natural world
