Elizabeth Meyer, chairman for the Danish Social Democrats has a mission: to win the upcoming Parliament election and thereby become Denmark's first female prime minister. Meyer is "one of the boys"; she desires and dares to take on the power and the leadership. So she's completely unconcerned when Islamic fundamentalists send her death threats because of her Jewish heritage. With her long experiences with Danish and International politics, she knows that being political active bears its price. B...more

hanne-vibeke holst has her finger on the pulse of danish politics and you can practically put the real names on the political characters in her books, but as a writer, she is shallow and repetitive. she's somewhere, as a writer, between dan brown and steig larsson. in other words. mediocre. but i could see the book as a film. let's just say that i was glad this one was from the library and not something i paid for.
