This is a good read for anyone who's tired of the "awesomely charming prince has to go save a princess, slay the dragon, and have trivial things get in his way that he can easily get around" books that sound like repeats of stories one tells to children.

I read this book when I stumbled across it in my father's study and read it in Sr. High. I must say, this book is hilarious to me.

I've long been a fan of Mr. Costikyan's three fantasy novels (I can't speak for his science fiction story, as I haven't read it). Unfortunately, it has been a number of years since he has published any novels, and it doesn't appear that there are any new stories set in the Magic of the Plains or the Cups & Sorcery series forthcoming.
