This book is the story of a greyhound, Gator, who was adopted by a family after retiring from racing. It tells about the things that he has to get used to living in a home with a family. The author visited our school and said that he considered the book realistic fiction. There is a part of the story where the dogs talk to each other so this book may not be strictly realistic fiction. The story is written in rhyme and makes a good read aloud.
