Miloš: The part that I liked was when they all had fun and went down the hill. The next part I wanted to say was that I liked when the bunny was on their toboggan. And I liked that they all went home and had a fire. That looked pretty cozy.
Mama: What did you like about Jack and Jill and Big Dog Bill?
Brontë: I like that Jill saw the bunny. That was cute.
Pa: Do you think Jack and Jill and Big Dog Bill is as good as Where the Wild Things Are or do you think that Where the Wild Things Are More...

This cute book is about Jack, Jill, and Big Dog Bill going sleding. Bill pulls Jack and Jill up the hill several times then pushes them down. Finally Bill refuses to push them up the hill so they put him on the sled and push him up the hill. When they get to the top a rabbit jumps up and scares Bill and the three of them tumble down the hill while the rabbit rides the sled. After this they all decide to go home.
I would use this book in my class to discuss rhyming. I would show them wit More...

This is a fun book for beginning readers. It has lively, colorful illustrations and the narrative is repetitive enough for younger readers to get familiar with the words and feel like they can read it quickly. Our girls took turns reading this book and it gave them a good sense of accomplishment. This is an easy book for my oldest (almost 7,) but perfect for my youngest (just turned 5).

The pictures and story are hysterical. Great story for the emergent reader to read by him/herself or for a parent to read to younger ones. This is a great story that I enjoy along with my kids!

It is not easy writing a book for beginning readers that is actually funny. This one is. I definitely recommend this book if you have a kid who is learning to read.

(age 5) I loved when Jack and Jill and Big Dog Bill went up the snow mountain, and I liked when they went down the hill too. I read it in the car all by myself!

My kids and my nieces/nephews all loved this early reader. It's one of the ones we can all recite in our sleep...
