Oliver wants to build the best fort ever and the biggest one in the neighborhood. In this chapter book Oliver runs into many obstacles in building this fort. But this book shows how true friends come to the rescue and help out another friend. James and Albert show Oliver that they want to help and create the biggest and coolest fort ever.

Good for students learning to read. Level 2 book. Teaches that you should be sharing, and work together (otherwise you might regret it later). Seemed like it might be a good book to introduce chapters to students, and help them ease into it.

I always loved to make forts as a kid too. Oliver and his friends make an awesome fort with boxes and tires etc and they have a sleep-over in it. They collapse the fort in the end and decide to sleep inside.

Cute first chapter book for young readers. The message seemed to focus on getting along (with siblings) and working together to accomplish things.

It certainly fulfills the easy-to-read guidelines. It's easy, but it also includes some "challenging" words to stretch the children's abilities and vocabularies. I also like that it's divided into chapters, because it helps introduce young children to chapter books to come ahead. The story is so much fun too.
