Lately I have not had all that great of luck when it comes to this genre of books. This book was not among that list. Usually the male lead in the story has trouble with his Faith, but in this book the female lead has doubts. It was a nice twist to things. However, about three forths of the way in I found that I was getting annoyed with her trials with her Faith. Overall a good light read.
The heroine of this story, Adelaide, does a great deal for other people, but she has some important lessons to learn about herself, and also about God. The storyline will definitely hold your interest throughout, and it powerfully illustrates the importance of forgiveness and the corrosive effects of bitterness. I can't wait to read Pearl's story next.
I very much enjoyed this book by Victoria Bylin and plan on checking out her other books. It had a good plot and kept me interested. I enjoyed all the characters and found the story to be believable. I thought the heroines conversion was just a bit to quick and the ending a bit rushed but other than that I have no complaints.
Grade: B

The primary faith message is “casting stones,” and — believe it or not — the central theme is the hypocrisy and double-standard of slut-shaming.
The only issues keeping this from an A grade were the...more
Did he answer as a minister or a man? The minister had words for her. The man wanted to draw her into his arms.
