One of the better books for identifying some of the more common oaks, it doesn't tell you much about them beyond the bare essentials. The descriptions are very sparse & don't point out differences between similar species very well.

It has a fold out page with a quite a variety of red & white oak leaf sketches. Even with its help, it can be difficult to distinguish between some species, such as the Chestnut, Swamp Chestnut & Chinnkapins, but with some time & practice, this will hel...more
