Danielle The Book Huntress (Angels Weep For Goodreads)
This was such a sweet book. Ashton sees Nettie and falls head over heels for her. The great thing is Nettie is not svelte and model-gorgeous. She's a little surprised that Ashton is so attracted to her. She's used to guys seeing her as the cuddly friend type. Another problem with the blooming courtship is that she swore off military men since she grew up a military brat. Ashton is a military guy, so he has a plan of attack. I really liked how tried and true Ashton was. He refused to give up unti...more

This book goes hand in hand with what I preach concerning being found. It gives the prime example of a male who finds his wife and will stop at nothing to get her. It displays spirituality as he sets on a quest to become one with her through spirit. It's a good read!

It wasn't the best I have read.

So maybe it's just me but I don't like how there were 5 diffrent love stories going on. I understand this is a series and characters from previous books were in here but they took up more than half the book. I felt that this was rushed and while the story was short Netherland went from not loving him to loving him with her heart and soul within a few pages I started laughing . it seemed every relationship in this book was struck by love at first sight and while it...more

Good read

I was pleasantly surprised by the characters in this book. It was nice to have a positive spin on relationships with people of color. Although there was a lot of different couples all in love or falling in love, I am glad it didn't take too much focus off the main couple. This story wasn't really believable with everyone falling in love at first sight but it was still a good read.

OMG, what a story. ... Definitely one of my favorite Madaris friends. As stubborn as I can be I would surrender to the one and only Ashton Sinclair, I'm glad Netherland was able to do just that and get over her fear of getting involved with a military man. Next... Gina and Mitch

What I like most about Brenda Jackson books are the steadfast loyalty the significant others have for one another. Very sweet and endearing seeing how committed they are to one another. However, sometimes that loyalty is earned too quickly, in this book insta-love happened three times I think to different couples. There were way too many storylines taking place at once, Ashton/Nettie, Rainey/Howard, Rome/Jada, etc. that it seemed like it was three short novellas crisscrossing one another. Accord...more

Really

I like romance novels, but love by looking really. Everyone fell in love in seconds. This is not reality for anyone I know. However it is a very nice thought

I absolutely love this book. I love Marine Colonel Ashton Sinclair he is my type of man. He meets Nettie McBroom a military brat who vows never to date a military man. But it was love at first sight for both and Ashton knows something Nettie doesn't know. He had 2 vision and both included her now he just has to convince her that they belong together. Marine Colonel Ashton Sinclair is awesome!!!

At first I wasn't sure if I wanted to start on the Madaris Family and Friends but it's to late now. Thi...more

Although Nettie didn't want to be a Marine wife she wanted to be married to a certain Marine, Ashton. With his half Native American and have African American heritage he is a dream come true in a Marine uniform. After 3 years of proclaiming that she did not want him Nettie finally admit it to herself and others at the auction. she then learns the true meaning of being a Marine wife when Ashton has to risk his own life to save the life of her young employee, Jada. Surrender is the reason I am glad I found Brenda Jackson. I am a sucker for a true romance novel. In Surrender, Ashton Sinclair decides he wants Netherland Brooms and in true military precison, he goes after her.

His methods, which verged on stalking, would have won over any other woman in no time, but Netherland's admission to never settle for "military" challenged his plan.

Jackson's ability to intertwine romance and action keeps the reader engaged through the entire book. I found myself chuckli...more

Brenda does it again. Ashton was determined Nettie would be his wife and mother of his children and she was determined it won't happen. I love how the story flows and how his three best friend supported him.

The story of Nettie Broomes (owner of Sisters) and Col. Ashton Sinclair (Marine). She doesn't want to get involved with a military man and he's determined to win her heart. Captivating! Suspense, drama and passion are involved too.

Great book

I really enjoyed the suspense, romance and humor. I also liked all of the additional love connections and side stories. For a minute I was worried that everything wouldn't be wrapped up by the end of the book, but it was. This was definitely one of my favorite Brenda Jackson books!

Another one

Brenda Jackson does it again, as he knows just how to make you feel like you're right there with the characters in the book.

This is a great book I like it from start to finish but I do think it could have ended differently!!!!!

Ashton proved to Netherland without a doubt that being a "honorable" soldier/Colonel in the Marines would not stop his undying love for her. Once she finally surrendered through trust, patience, and faith, only then was she able to experience the real meaning of true love. Ashton was a man on mission to prove to stubborn Nettie that she would be his wife and that she would have triplets...whether she believed him or not. Awesome/Must read. As with all of the stories presented in the Madaris seri...more

I have read this book several times and if I can give it more stars I would. This is one of my favorite book in the Madaris Saga. I have been in love with Ashton for many years but would gladly hand him over to Netherland because they make such a perfect fit.

This book still works in 2013, a classic, a true romance. If a writer wants longevity then they need to examine Brenda's works. She has the formula and it still works. Timeless

Nettie and Ashton! Who couldn't love the two! I loved how much faith Ashton had in Nettie's ability to have children; his faith in her reminded me so much of Hebrews 11:1. Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not yet seen! I really enjoyed their story, although Ashton was a bit of a stalker, even if he was a loving one.

This 10th book's story line was okay. I enjoyed learning the facts about the Indians. I liked the ending. I liked all the secondary stuff in this story more than the main characters. Ashton & Nettie was kind of boring to me.

I couldn't wait to read about Ashton and Netherland's story. It was just as good as I thought it would be with the added bonus of Rome and Jada. I loved it.
Queenester
I loved the lead male. He was so patient waiting for the woman he knew to be his mate for life. The chemistry was great. I would read it again.
