This was my brother's book and he collected with my father. i bought it for him as a gift. He said it was a very good basic guide, for he had others, some in Japanese about his sword collection. I read the book and amazed by all there was to the the samurai blade and the sword fittings. I was quite the learning experience for me, and allowed me to see into their world a little more.

Very technical and therefore difficult to read, but perhaps useful as a reference for collectors of Japanese swords. A few good color photos but hoped there would be more.
I read this one for research for my book--very interesting and highly detailed.
