Published by Rodale, otherwise known for health/nutrition books, this is an odd tome, printed as it is on mass-market stock between hard covers in a pocket-book size. The author does a good job of culling quotes from interviews spread throughout an impressively obscure bibliography, and he never strays far from his focus of what it was like to write and record, and be inspired. This a mature take on what is so often derided by 'high art' critics as meaningless entertainment for the id.

This is a synopsis of Led Zeppelin. It is well crafted and a quick interesting read. I did not know about how the albums came together and the feeling behind their making. I have a better sense of the process now and a deeper appreciation for the spirit behind it.
