Coulter wants to be inflammatory, outrageous, and get her team riled and ready to fight. It is difficult to find her insulting when she never has anything valuable to say. It's a pity that so much education has been wasted on her and so many years of women struggling to be heard and taken seriously are tainted by loud mouthed, igorami like Coulter. A lot of hardship would do her good. We'd cut down the global warming effect by reducing greenhouse gasses if people like Coulter, O'Reilly, Ging

I checked this out to find out if she was really as hateful as her reputation.
It didn't take long.

Ann Coulter is, shall we say, sensationalistic, but her books are very well researched (and footnoted with solid sources), and her style very readable. I found this one in particular facinating as I've been on my Cold War kick. Lots and lots of history, but with some new slants, as new documents have been unclassified and made accessable to the public in the 90's. Coulter garners much information from these declassified FBI reports (The Venona Project). Seems Joe McCarthy wasn't so crazy after a

Before I begin I want to say I bought this book [the hard book no less:] for $2.70. I know I could have purchased a candy bar or better yet had two spins on a 25 cent quarter video poker machine! I am not a fan of Ann Coulter and almost dislike the far right conservatives almost as much as the far left liberals [well maybe not almost but I can't stand listening to the filth of either side:]. Both sides see everything as black/white or right and wrong. Most everyone I know [whether they call

Coulter's most historically-focussed work, this volume details a new perspective on the Cold War, especially Senator Joe McCarthy. The Venona project revealed that nearly all of the people McCarthy questioned were not only sympathizers with the Communist Party, but were actual agents of the KGB. To this day, few historians have factored the Venona Project into consideration when examining/smearing McCarthy unreservedly.

I started laughing at Coulter's ability to be a full-blown, conservative, Neo-Nazi quack. But then it just got boring. There's only so much nonsense an intelligent mind can take, ya know?

Ann Coulter isn't frequently taken seriously by either conservatives or liberals. Her other books are basically political comedy: she makes witty (hilarious, even) observations about those on the opposite end of the political spectrum, she entertains with wild, exaggerated (and again, hilarious) personal opinions about policies, and generally tries to shock readers and sensationalize.

Reading Ann Coulter's books is my little guilty secret. My political loyalties are diametrically opposed to those of Coulter but I do have to concede the point when she puts the record straight about Senator McCarthy. That said, I really do not see why Hollywood screenwriters were blacklisted. I also have to accept that Ronald Reagan and his policies were really responsible in ending the Cold War. However, Reagan's policies were a big gamble that may have resulted in a conventional invasion of w

Excellent weekend read with great information about the 'red scare' that many people do not know. I was surprised how much of the book is based not only in this time period but in documented fact concerning the red scare of the late 1940s and 1950s. An excellent read, especially for those educated in public schools.

This was a fantastic read! I laughed the whole way through. Her writing is witty and charismatic, as though you were talking with her face to face. She takes topics and circumstances that we all have at least heard of and digs a little deeper into what really happened. She explores how society looks back on the Cold War, its causes, and the misrepresentations modern media and schoolrooms teach us. All of her facts and figures are available on the public record for anyone to look up. I was

Ann makes Republicans look really bad. I read this with the hopes that I would learn something about what goes on in the mind of a Republican when I am surrounded by liberals and Democrats (such dirty words!) and found her to be completely a waste of time. She is nuts. Her points are nuts and unfounded. She starts off with remarks about "McCarthyism" as the blasphemous accusation spewed today. And I'm thinking she is talking to the wrong generation. I haven't heard anyone yell "Mc

Ann Coulter has a singular wit and razor sharp tongue. Chronicles some of the actions taken by politicians that are destroying this nation.

What a wonderful book! This book summarizes why Americans have long ago stopped trusting Democrats to protect us from all enemies foreign and domestic, and how their first instinct is to blame America for every bad event and then try to appease murderers and thugs (think Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, etc.) However, my favorite part may have been her review of the service of Joseph McCarthy, one of the least appreciated and most unjustly vilified patriots in all of American history. Definitely wort

This book tells the a history of how the liberals (mainly demomcrats) in our great country (USA) have literally sold us out by being soft on communism and terrorism. If what the author is saying is true and her infomation/facts are correct, our liberal leaders have cost us many wars such as Vietnam, many lives and world scorn due to wishy washy liberal politics. If we would get tough as Reagan was on the cold war (which we did win) the world would have fewer murderous dictators like Stalin, Hi

I finished reading another “right-wing conspiracy nut” book. This time it’s Treason by Ann Coulter.
After reading Useful Idiots by Mona Charen, I initially found Coulter’s book to be a lot more off-the-cuff and sardonic.
Coulter loves to mock liberals and she does a great job of setting up the figurative bowling pins of historical facts and knocks them down again and and again.
Treason spends a good deal of time in the 1940s and 50s examining the House Un-A More...

Jon gave me this book as a gag gift for either my birthday or Xmas one year (I can't remember which). I tried to read it with an open mind, I really did, but Gott in Himmel this woman is PSYCHOTIC. I mean really... Nixon was the greatest president the U.S. has ever had? Does anyone in their right mind really believe that?
Aside from all of the historical and factual inaccuracies (this was written by the woman who thinks Canada sent troops to Vietnam, after all), there is also the m More...

As I look at the reviews of others, I see people either hated this book or loved it. After reading the reviews of several of those that hated the book, I have to wonder if they really read the book. They don't seem to have much of substance to say.
As I read this book, I was taken aback as I considered all that I had been taught in the public school system. Once again Coulter lays out her evidence in a systematic and logical fashion. This book is well worth reading and considering More...

This book marks a distinct fork in the road and I can say i knew I was completely alienated from my oldest and dearest friend when he sent me this inflammatory screed in an attempt to "get us on the same page". Someone mentioned "well researched" in reference to Ms. C's work? Take me to the library where this "Liberals have a preternatural gift for striking a position on the side of treason." would be a documented fact and I'll buy you cheap beer until they turn up

i thought the stuff about mccarthyism was an eye-opener. i'm glad i haven't have to experience the bad end of that stick, though i'll hazard we have all experienced a kind of treatment like that...we're human, it happens and it can get nasty.
but what i found enlightening is that, hey, there were communists in high positions. or is that something we're not sposed to acknowledge...you know, at the risk of being called hate-filled...don't rock the boat! don't rock the boat, baby!

This was a great book. I know Coulter normally, especially these days, sets out just to insult liberals, but this book was a great look at the Cold War and at what people called McCarthyism. She really did her homework with this, setting out to educate. What she points out in this book unravels everything the left tried to teach and deny about Communists working within the government. She provides all the facts and details the mass media and "higher" education failed to report or teach

All right, I'll admit it- Ann Coulter is a shock artist and right wing demagogue. But this work turned out to be one of the best researched examples of a counterargument I've seen yet. In this exhaustively researched piece, Coulter tries to defend the seemingly undefendible (McCarthyism) and manages to do a very good job at it.

Unlike many of her more recent books, which tend to be recycled op-ed articles, this book is a very well-researched account of what happened during the McCarthy years. Liberals tend to malign McCarthy in an attempt to discredit what he was on to. Coulter shows that, in many regards, he was right.

This book really helped me open my eyes and question things the mainstream media had been spouting for decades about all things political. One of the things that impressed me about the book was the amount of research that went into it (even critics admitted the legitimacy of her research).

Love her or hate her, this chick can bring it and back it up w/ fact. I think this is a very usefull history type book, esp. now in the midst of a generation who just voted for the most powerful man in the free world on the basis of nothing more than a popularity contest.

Again most of the bad reviews on here are by folks who would never read her book.
What drives the left crazy about Ann Coulter's books is that they thoroughly researched with quotes and citation. They can't argue with the facts, so they attack Ann Coulter.

I love her brand of crazy. This book is actually laid out logical and agrued well. I agree with her politics, so it is easy for me to be entertained. This was the better of the three I have read. To me, she is the WWE of political commentary.

Why does she have so many fucking books? They all have the same message; that liberals suck. Get over yourself Ms.Coulter. Just because you can write 500 books all saying the same thing doesn't mean your great.

I suffered through this book and it's nonsensical arguments, oxymorons (emphasis on the last part of that word), and pure unabashed hatred. And yet somehow, I came out clean on the other side.
