The thing that stands out most about this graphic novel is the unique art style. In certain panels, it's absolutely breathtaking. On the other hand, the reuse/closeups of images is a bit of a turn-off, and there seems to be some inconsistency in how characters' faces are portrayed in between panels. The love story at the heart of the book seems compelling, but the execution didn't really engage me in this book. Also, the page-to-page events can be a bit confusing at times. I'm not a huge fan of the art style. The almost photo-realism never quite does it for me. (I assuming that photos are actually the base for a lot of the artwork.)[return][return]A touch melodramatic, which is always ok with me. I'll keep reading to see where the story goes. I'm hoping it'll spend a little less time with the agony of the main character and spend a little more time on the actual story.
