This was my favorite book in elementary school :) After I read this, I started sneaking my Mom's Stephen King books. If I have kids (especially a daughter), I will give this to her and hope she loves it as much as I did. And my Stephen King collection will be waiting for her too :)

An old childhood favorite: 11 year-olds get parts in a play, but the theatre seems to be haunted. Perfect to read in an hour when you're laying in bed with a cold.

I haven't read this book since forever ago, but I remember that I absolutely loved it. Perfect for younger kids who like mysteries.

Nina has tried out for a part in a play in the theater. she gets approved and goes there for practice but one day she spots a mysterious figure in the theater who wears old fashion clothes.

Soon mysterious things starts to happen like the ripping of a dress and burning of the scripts.
Nina becomes curious and soon discovers the sorrowful past of the ghost.

Could it be the ghost trying to sabotage the play? or could it be somebody else...

In this book I learned that it's better to stay out of things and to not be nosy. The girls wouldn't of gotten into trouble if they just minded their own business.

I read this several times when I was a kid because it was creepy but not traumatic. I haven’t read it in a long time, but I still have a soft spot for it.

This is one of the many, many books I read while going through physical therapy for JRA in my 5th-6th grade years.

Ah-ha! Tara, this is one of the covers I was remembering. Same author as the Brass Bed book too.
