The analysis is a bit simplistic, but the book provides a perspective that--whether one agree or not--gets one to thinking. And that is not a bad thing! Schwartz argues that public policy worked much better than many critics would have it from the Kennedy to the Reagan years. His is an affirmation of more liberal as opposed to more conservative policies. Whether or not one goes along with his argument, he does--as noted before--provoke thinking about the subject.
