Senses Wide Open is a combination of Sensory Awareness (Charlotte Selver's work) and Bioenergetics (Alexander Lowen's work) -- two practices I'm most familiar with in terms of somatic (body-oriented) ways of knowing the self. Techinically, Johanna Putnoi refers to her work as being part of the Lomi School of bodywork (putting together Eastern and Western thought and practice, mindfulness and attention to one's body).
