Bought this book on a whim at the Strand book store here in NYC. I had never read Thoreau before and decided it was past time to get a taste. I would suggest it to anyone wanting a brief look at his writings.

Don't be fooled by the size of this tiny (112 pg.) paperback. It will kick you in the ass with ideologies, and possibly make you a very disagreeable/opinionated person. A definite companion for exile.

Short, just the heaviest guts of "Walden." The bits most quoted, I suppose. It fit nicely in my pocket.
