Cameron Lewis is a water safety instructor who travels a good part of the year for his job. Noah Winthrop, Cameron’s best friend Adam’s kid brother, has had a crush on him since he was 15.
I started out liking how Noah and Cameron tried to resolve some of their early relationship issues, their difficulty communicating and their power struggles. Noah is a very appealing character. This is my first K.A. Mitchell book. It was a light romance about Noah Winthrop and the man he has been in love with his whole life, Cameron Lewis. The book starts 10 years after Noah realizes he's gay and 6 years after their one night stand.
After the initial setup, the story travels rapidly through their relationship. Cameron travels a lot for work. And while the story is from the POV of both men, we never quite get a clear picture of Cameron. All of his POVs are almost always when he is with C...more

No gay cowboys this time, I promise.
Um, gay....lifeguards and pool instructors? I confess, I was a little hazy on who did what, because in this book, there's sex on every other page. And what sex it is. Whoooo boy. Hot, hot manloving. That coffee table will never be the same, but luckily it has the desk to hold its little hand and commiserate.
Cam deflowered Noah sort of roughly after his best friend (and Noah's brother)'s wedding. Everyone with me so far? After that, the two of them led complete...more

Noah has had a crush on his older brother's best friend since his teenage years. They had one brief encounter when Noah was a teen, and one steamy night at a wedding six years ago. When Noah finds out Cameron will be his instructor in a training seminar for work, he decides to make Cameron notice him. When Cameron sees the gorgeous man at the front of the classroom, he can hardly believe the man is Noah, his best friend's kid brother. Sparks fly, and the men can't resist their attraction for one...more
I loved this story. It was fluffy and undemanding and hot as hell. Purrfect!

I thought Diving in Deep was gonna be awesome , but it was decent at best. It had some sexy points but the two male characters just sometimes annoyed me, so stubborn they were. Maybe all that diving and breath holding made them lose oxygen to the brain, which left them stupid.
THE RUNDOWN- Noah is in love with his brother’s best friend and he decides to make a move. Well you see Noah is 15 at the time and Cameron feels he is a little too young. Plus he will never make a m...more

I read the second book in this series before reading this one...which I almost never do! I was intrigued by Cam and Noah in Collision Course so I was excited to see the development of their relationship. I loved Noah! He was so well-written and sweet about his devotion to Cam. On the other hand, I found Cam to be oblivious and a bit of a jerk at times. I did end up liking him by the end, but it took time for him to grow on me. The sex was very hot and an interesting way to show character develop...more

Rating: 8/10
PROS:
- The sex scenes are well done. I was particularly impressed with the first one, not because it’s hot, but because it captures the uncertainty and pain (especially the pain) associated with bottoming for the first time very well.
- Mitchell’s a good writer. She never wowed me speechless with her turn-of-phrase, but the writing is crisp and sharp, there are funny moments not...more

Noah Winthrop has had it bad for Cameron Lewis since he was a kid. At his brother Adam's wedding, Noah and Cameron share one night, but when Noah wakes up the next morning, Cam is gone-no note, no number, nothing.
They don't see each other for years, until Noah is taking a refresher CPR/Life Guarding class and Cameron is the instructor. They quickly pick up where they left off, but Cam's job requires a lot of travel and he's gone for weeks at a time. Noah is in love with Cam-and he goes along wit...more

Cameron Lewis travels around the country as a water park inspector/certification instructor. At one job he notices some eye candy in the front row and is shocked to realize that he's ogling his best friend's brother who is all grown up. Noah has been crushing on Cameron since he was 15. At Noah's brother, Adam's, wedding 6 years ago, Noah finally clumsily seduces Cameron but wakes up alone. 6 years later, Noah is tall, dark, and gorgeous and has the confidence to go after what he wants. Diving in Deep is the story about Cameron Lewis, 30 years old, instructor at a water safety firm and doing his absolute best to avoid any sort of lasting relationship if possible, and Noah Winthrop, 26, the little brother of Cameron's best friend who's had a crush on Cameron for 10 years, lost his virginity with Cameron in a one-night-stand six years ago, and who's gotten too hot to be ignored by anyone - definitely not by Cameron who just might feel a bit more for Noah than he wants to admit. [spoiler ahead]I really enjoyed this book. It was my second by this author and I imagined I knew what to expect. But I was pleasantly surprised. I was a bit put off by the flashbacks from the past because I feel they lose some of the raw emotion of the moment. But in Noah and Cam's case, it worked superbly, especially with those amazing erotic scenes that only added fuel to their interactions years later. I was a bit surprised by the light dominance described in the book, as Noah hardly seemed l...more
A not-so-deep book about Noah, who've had a crush on his older brother's best friend, Cameron, since he was young. At fifteen he first tried to seduce Cam, but was turned down. At 19 he lost his virginity to him, and woke up alone the morning after. At 25 he meets him again for the first time in 6 years, and this time he's determined to finally get what he wants from Cam. But Cam isn't an easy fish to catch and Noah has a problem with making demands. He has to figure out if what Cam is willing t...more

Noah has had a crush on his older brother's best friend, Cameron, since he was 15-years-old. At 19, Noah loses his virginity to Cam on the night of his brother's wedding. Fast forward five years and Noah and Cam's paths cross yet again. Sparks fly and Noah is intent on hanging on to Cam, despite his dick-wad ways.
I liked this book. I admit, Cam was an ass. At first, I felt so bad for Noah. He'd been beholden to this crazy crush for years. Unrequited love/lust sucks! Even though Noah did...more

Halfway through the book I was already calling it a killer story. Now after having finished it, I am happy to say that it was an excellent call.
The first story that I read by K.A. Mitchell was Custom Ride in the Temperature's Rising: A Midsummer Night Steam anthology. I was completely hooked, but it took me some time to get more of her books. Let's just say that that has changed as of now; K.A. Mitchell is now an autobuy author.

Cameron Lewis is a beautiful man with an awesome job inspecting water parks. Cameron Lewis is Noah Winthrop's first crush, first time, and well, just pretty much his first everything. Unfortunately, Cameron Lewis is also a fucking idiot! My jaw honestly hit the floor with some of the shit he pulled. I can't believe it took him 80% of the book to realize his feelings for Noah and 95% of the book to grow a set and do something about it. I feel jipped. I feel Noah got jipped. I feel, grrr, just grr...more
I liked it a lot, although I didn't find the relationship development quite as convincing as the one in Collision Course. I think the problem (for me) was that it was a long-distance relationship, so they didn't spend enough time talking (again, for me). They were just so quick to hit the sack every time they saw each other. In fact, there were very few secondary characters worth mentioning--mainly because most of the action takes place in hotel rooms or Noah's apartment.

This was just ok. Not much in the way of story or romance. Just a lot of sex and then, oh yeah, of course I love you. Let's spend the rest of our lives together.
I think Cameron was supposed to be the shallow, immature one. He doesn't comit, he travels for his job because he prefers it. He's relationship-phobic. I think I was supposed to feel for Noah trying to tie a guy like that down. Instead I didn't blame Cameron for always leaving. Noah acted like a 12 yr old with a crush throughout the whol...more

So, to sum up what I said in the last review... I loved this book.
I love this author and her characterizations, the chemistry between the characters, and the journey they take to realizing they are in love. This book was no different...

I loved this book. I read the Joey's story first which made me not want to pick this one up and start reading since I already knew what happened...but I didn't really. I was hooked from page one. The amazing skills of K.A. Mitchell just pull you right in and you fall in love with these two men, Noah & Cam, immediately. At least, I did.

Every now and then you come across an author who, after you read one book you become a "glommer", ie you have to read them all.
K.A.Mitchell is one of those.
Her books are a good balance of story and sex where the characters are rounded and their conflicts and motivations thoroughly believable.
I actually read the sequel to this first but it didn't spoil the story of Noah and Cam.

This is definitely not on the same level as the other K.A. Mitchell books I've read. One of my favorite things about Mitchell's writing style is the depth of her characterization, but that was missing here. I didn't feel like I got to know either of the main characters very well, and I didn't find either of them very likable. The sex was hot, I guess, but I don't enjoy sex scenes unless I'm invested in the characters. I'm glad I started Mitchell's Florida series with Collision Course instead of...more

Well now, that was a delightful, sexy story. There is even a slight allusion to plot in there with all the p0rn.
I loved how the characters actually grew up and started taking responsibility for their own lives. And I loved these two men, Cameron and Noah. Perfect.
Best line?
"Okay then. But if either of you try to turn my sons into"—Adam paused, lips pursed in disgust—"Yankee fans, I'll kill you both."
Indeed.

This is the first of three connected books and the last one I read. It's also the weakest of the bunch - but it's still a good book so I'm not really complaining. It has one of my favorite themes: falling for a best friend's sibling. Noah and Cameron make an appearance in Collision Course and the dynamic between Cameron and Aaron intrigued me, so I ended up reading this story last. Noah and Cameron grew up knowing each other, with Noah having a major crush on his brother's best friend. Cameron w...more
I only made it about three-quarters into this book until I gave up. It was very disappointing, especially based on the ratings other readers gave this book. The characters are very one dimensional and shallow. Even the sex scenes are not very steamy, in fact they can be downright confusing. I had to reread some passages trying to figure out how they switched positions around so quickly. Its light reading and might be nice to read if you can use your imagination and fill in the gaps in the story....more
This is another book that I wanted to like more. My problem I think is with Cameron and the fact that we aren't given any reason or explanation for why he is as closed off as he is. He just seems to be going through the motions and has a lack of maturity in recognizing his own or anyone else's emotional lives. If there was some underlying reason for it, I would be able to accept it and probably like him more. At times I just shook my head and thought, huh, he really isn't too bright.

I just finished re-reading this as I'm working my way through the series again in honor of #4 just being released.
I'm delighted to say I actually enjoyed it more the second time through. Perhaps because I knew exactly how it would end and was therefore able to have more patience with all of the back-and-forth in the middle... However, there were a few times in the middle that I was tempted to give up. It started to feel very repetitive, as Noah whines about wanting more from Cam and Cam...more

I am a bit stuck with a few books and I can't seem to get over the end of a series I loved, so I needed a light, thoughtless read and this was perfect. Light and thoughtless are not bad qualities for a book, especially when it means it can make your mind relax. I am not a overly romantic person, but this was romantic without being fluffy, in my opinion.

K.A. Mitchell discovered the magic of writing at an early age when she learned that a carefully crayoned note of apology sent to the kitchen in a toy truck would earn her a reprieve from banishment to her room. Her career as a spin-control artist was cut short when her family moved to a two-story house, and her trucks would not roll safely down the stairs. Around the same time, she decided that Ch...more
