Balanced, meaty, and respectful of seekers, not assuming that readers have already decided on Paganism and need to learn how to do it, but guiding readers through a kind of tour of what's commonly to be found in the Pagan part of any given Pagan's head, and offering the reader the chance to take home those ideas.

The book is not written at a seventh grade level, as I was unconsciously expecting from any book on Paganism with "introduction" or "beginners" in it's ...more

This is a fantastic beginner's book for those who are looking into learning or practicing neo-paganism (often shortened to simply "pagan"). I've been studying Paganism for quite some time and stumpled on this book at Half-Price and started reading when I got home. It is so in-depth and easy to read and understand, everything is explained clearly and you truly can learn from this book.
It was a great find and I'd recommend this to anyone studying the Pagan life.

This book is completely unnecessary to read if you're already a practicing pagan. If you're of a different religion that is having trouble understanding and accpeting Paganism, then this is a good book to help you through your confusion, if you're wanting to be helped through it.

But if you're already learned in paganism, or at least have a decent and open understanding of it...don't bother with the book.

Absolutely wonderful book to read if you are studying religion for a class or you are trying to find your own spiritual path. Very easy to follow and gives questions to ask yourself. It challenges the common view of what a lot of people think when they think of the term "pagan", "witch", or the like.

This book has helped me further understand Paganism. It has also helped me identify myself more and see who believes what and to know truly what I believe. It has helped me know I am not alone in some of my beliefs and that I am not weird or wrong I am just me. And thats ok.

This was the book i turned to when I first wanted to learn more about pagan paths a few years ago. Although very Wicca orientated (that is the path the authors follow), it is broad enough to talk about the various paths and issues involved in pagan spirituality. I'd recommend it as a discussion book for any "new to paganism" group or course. Just right for beginners and seekers.

I am enjoying reading this book.I was pleasantly surprized to find so many of the verses and belief systems I already hold sacred described so well here. And also benefited from the description of Magick, as simply being the knowledge on how to wield the interconnectedness of All things.

It is so much more than just what Pagans believe in. I'm only halfway through it right now, and I've already learned so much, and changed so many of the crazy notions I had gotten into my head about this religion. So informative.

Good overview- mixed science in with paganism, which I dig. Needed some supplimental help from another book (as I was taking a class) to round it out, but overall it was alright.

I love this book. It explains paganism in the easiest to understand way I've come across yet. If you ever wondered what paganism was, this book will fill you in and not confuse you.

I thought this was going to be really cheesy, but it was very straightforward and I really liked it.

It was a hit and a miss for me.

Being a non-Pagan, I was mostly looking for insight into the philosophy underlying Paganism and while it differs among Pagans, this is a great overview. I really enjoyed the chapter on Satan and the different views of him - as a liberal Protestant, I don't give Satan much thought so this chapter was very interesting to me. I just have a couple more chapters to go and I'm really enjoying this -- it's educational and interesting without being proselytizing or condescending to other religions.
