Eternal Seduction (Darkness Within #1)
by
Jennifer Turner (Goodreads Author)
After living on the streets of New York for over a decade, Logan admits her perceptions might be a little skewed. But twisted or not, there's a satisfying irony in watching a well dressed vampire stand in the middle of a ghetto alley, windblown trash scraping circles near his feet. What she finds even more intriguing, is waiting for him to decide if he's going to kill her....more

Let’s build up images for our characters, shall we?
Logan – lol I can’t help but think of Chuck Norris when I say this name…

I admit Logan isn’t your typical heroine. How often do you find a drug addict homeless person who, surprisingly, has a very good oral hygiene and who steals bags from old women for a living? Even though she seemed promising, everything went to hell after 50 pages or so. Logan is the most hateful annoying bitch on the planet! I simply hated her and didn’t believe the crap of...more

If you're a paranormal or urban fantasy fan, you need to drop what you're doing and arrange to get your hands on this book NOW. "Eternal Seduction" by Jennifer Turner is one of the best paranormal/urban fantasy romance/close to erotica books I've read...ever. Not sure if it's the gritty reality, the flawed yet redeemable main characters, the compelling secondary cast, the dark humor, or the fascinating complexity, but this story sucked me right into the author's world and I'm still a little bit...more
I love it when I find a book that has all my favorite elements, but stands out from the rest!
Logan Ellis is a homeless, heroine addict who, over the past several weeks, keeps running into vampires. She manages to "live and let live" until one night ...
She meets Kerestyan Nelek, Lord of New York Vamps, and he cannot decide what to do with Logan. She's not reacting as he'd expected and, even though he should, he doesn't kill her for her knowledge of vampires' existence.

If you're into paranormal romance books, then this is one of the good books out there to grab. With a twist of real-life-like characters with vices and flaws, this book is not your classic paranormal romance book but is a great, witty read.
Jennifer Turner introduces Logan Ellis, a 30 year old, homeless, heroin addicted woman who happens to be walking in her usual New York City alley when she stumbles upon a group of vampires. Although, this isn't her first time seeing vampires - this is the firs...more

Loved this book, it was fabulous! A new take on vampire history, along with the "others". Did I ever think I'd fall for a heroine that starts out as a homeless heroin user, not in a million years! But this book was soooo good!
I was ready for a "hero falls first and fast" book and this filled the bill, but on top of that the heroine was so funny and as tough as they come. The hero was hot, he can walk me through a tough time any day! The side characters and "world" were very well developed.

Received my (2) copies of Eternal Seduction from Amazon last night and just finished it-will be gifting the other copy to a friend. Have been immersed in paranormal romances for about 6 months now, and this is one of the best I've read. I really liked the main character, Logan Ellis, who is a departure from your typical "heroine", but works well as a damaged/survivor focal point. The leading vamp, Kerestyan Nelek, an ancient who is more in touch with his feelings than our heroine, was a great pa...more
Oh, this is soooo going into my favorites! LOVE LOVE LOVED IT! I cant wait to read the 2nd and however many Jennifer decides to put out.
I laughed through the entire book, Odin is by far my favorite and just can't sit still until his book comes out. Sad moments, some OMG WTF moments, I cant count how many times I was caught off-guard and the end had me grinning like the romance loving, goof-ball that I am. If you haven't read, you MUST.

This book is a 5 star book until the last 30 or so pages. The author did an incredible job of introducing the readers to all the characters in the book and setting up the storyline.
That is part of the problem! She only introduces the reader and sets up the storyline and we are then almost to the end of the book. In the last 30 or so pages, Ms. Turner quickly tries to resolve all the issues and conclude the story (in a kind of disappointing way).
So, why the 4 stars? I loved the book and found mys...more

This book was really good, and fairly fast paced, I enjoyed the characters, and the book made me smile several times so the humor was good. My only complaint was that it should have been longer, and the plot could have been developed even further. I liked it so much that I was disappointed with the lack of drama/length of the ending. Other than that the book was really good, I really enjoyed it quite a lot!
Logan Ellis has lived on the streets in New York City for the last ten years. To cope with her past she has become addicted to heroin. She has no friends or family and keeps herself closed off to protect herself...

This book is witty and fast paced. If you are an urban fantasy or romance fantasy lover you should read this. Has lots of great elements-(vampires, werewolves and paladins oh my)- that tie together beautifully. Logan is broken, flawed and addicted but remains a force to be reckoned with. Love, love, loved her.

God where do I start? Every vampire in this book so far and the main protagonist has black hair and all the vampires are so ridiculously old! K, as that stupid bitch that made the steaks called him is like 10,000 years old and his his blood brother Vouclade is 20,000 years old and yes that his fucking name! All the names are retarted. And secondly she doesn't go through any pain from withdrawl and since I'm an ex addict I know that really is just pathetic writing. She just hops outta bed and wan...more
Usually when you get a free book on Kindle, you really are getting what you pay for. But sometimes you read one that surprises you. This is one of those books. Don't let the title throw you off of what kind of book this is. It's not your normal PR. This is really about the heroine first and the romance second. What I liked about it most, is she didn't whine about anything! There is nothing worse than a heroine who is supposed to be a strong and smart woman who complains about everything. She is...more
According to my Kindle I only made it 55% of the way through this book. While I thought the blurb had promise, I quickly found that the story was as flat as the heroine's chest. And ass, apparently. As we learn... in great detail.
This is one of those books that tries to make a genre stew, clumsily incorporating every possible particle and cliche that it could, and grinding it up into a pasty representation of PNR, which it then crams down our throat in a constant repeating loop of cutesy barfin...more

I really wasn't expecting to like this book so much!
The heroine, Logan, is not your typical heroine at all. She's a homeless junkie living on the streets of New York for the past ten years. She's cynical, stubborn, sarcastic, and really doesn't care about anything except brushing her teeth. When she finds out vampires exist, it really doesn't bother her either. She just accepts it for what it is, and goes about her merry little way.

Logan Ellis is the protagonist of this original and innovating book about vampire romance. It would be an understatement to say that Logan isn’t like your typical heroine, which makes her all the more interesting. She’s a passive character, traumatized up to the point that she just lets things pass her by unnoticed, even when topics as alarming as her own possible death are referred to. She genuinely doesn’t care, not about herself – her survival skills are greatly lacking, to say the least – he...more
Not enough story and not enough conflict.
Logan is a drug addict who accidentally discovers that vampires exist. Kerestyan is a vampire lord who decides that the best way to deal with Logan's discovery is to adopt her. Because drug addicts make great houseguests, right? Or they're so sexy? Or...there's no good reason for him to adopt her, but he does, and then they fall in love.

MICHELLE'S REVIEW:
RATING: 4.5 KERESTYAN IS IN THE HOUSE STARS!!!
I made a couple bold moves this year. I approached two authors, Tim O’Rourke author of Vampire Shift and asked to have a read and I contacted Jennifer Turner and ask if I could have a read of ‘Eternal Seduction’. I am then rewarded with 2 very different and most awesome stories that I found quite original.
I had stumbled across Jennifer’s web page and she had the first 3 chapters of this book up to read. I fell in love with her writi...more

I loved how Turner captured the dark atmosphere while still making the reader comfortable and able to believe in the love between each character. This is particularly true with respect to Kerestyan's father Stefan, his interesting sense of interior design, and his games of choice. The promise of a story lying just beneath the main story is intriguing. What exactly is Stefan up to? How do the politics of this fragile vampire "nation" play out? Are the Fledgings simply a nuisance or do they have a...more
This book was definitely different. Made for an exciting read.
Logan Ellis is reaaaallllly not your usual heroine. She's a homeless druggie and couldn't care less about her life. Over a few months she has noticed vampires since they seem to be stupid enough to fight in alley ways with their fangs out. Logan tries to mind her own business because she knows she isn't suppose to know about them. One night she comes across another three vampires fighting and she really need to get past them, not one...more

Original, Unique, and Awesome!
If you are a fan of fangy romance, have an appreciation for thorough and layered world building and mythos creation, and have a special place in your heart for flawed/damaged characters, stop reading this review and start buying Eternal Seduction, because this one has it all. This book not only hit all my happy spots as a reader, it stroked them and made them wriggle with pleasure!

Wow - this was awesome! Logan is intelligent, witty, strong, honest, etc. It was so good that I wish it was like 300 pages longer! There were some parts that could have been more developed. Some parts of the world building could have been more developed. The big conflict was resolved too quickly. I was expecting this huge resolution and big reasons and then it just resolved itself in the blink of an eye. THose are the only reasons I didn't give this one 5 stars.

Eternal Seduction pretty much had me hooked from the first page and even though the heroine is a homeless drug addict who begins the story by mugging an old lady, I couldn‘t help but like her straight away.
Although the storyline is typical to paranormal titles, there are several points that don’t conform to the usual conventions of this genre; one being Logan’s gritty and flawed lifestyle which is a nice change from the heroine’s of other paranormal romances. “You, alone, chose and accepted responsibility for your path, and that is why you will leave this chamber on your own two feet.”
This quote, spoken by the 'evil' dude in this book summarizes what I enjoyed about this book. However, it was actually a disappointment for a variety of other reasons; some being the pace, language and lack of action.
So let's meet our characters.

Cute story, likeable characters. Logan, the heroine, is a homeless drug addict when Vampire Lord Kerestyan comes across her. He immediately is drawn to her, and ultimately falls in love with her. Throughout the story, as she comes to terms with being sober, becoming an immortal, and reliving her sister's death, she debates with herself on her feelings for Kerestyan. I really liked all of the characters in this book - the banter between Logan and Kerestyan's brother Odin made me laugh on several...more

“There's a moment when you realise all your worst fears have come true. When the fat girl stuffing her face in the corner finally recognises food gives her the comfort she can't find in anyone else. When the gorgeous man with the body of a god realises he changes women like shoes because he's scared one won't find enough reason to stay. When you see the world for what it really is, see it for all the horrors the news can't or won't report. There's a moment when you realise and accept that you are the worthless piece of shit your father always said you were, because even a diseased crack-head wouldn't kill their own sister. It was a moment Kerestyan, a defining moment...an epiphany of imperfection.”
