Love can conquer anything…even death.

After being separated from his lover, Ash, no one and nothing is going to stand in Slate’s way when it comes to getting him back. Slate and Ash are madly in love. Unfortunately for them, Ash has a bad heart. Slate, however, didn't know this and watched his lover die before his eyes. First by having a heart attack then falling from a hay-loft. Grieving so deeply for Ash, Slate lets everything fall around him. When he comes across a spell that will bring his lover back, he'll do anything just to have Ash in his arms again. On the day of Ash's death, he casts it and gets his wish. When Ash finds out what Slate did, Slate lear ...more

My main problem with this book was the dialog between the main characters. It didn't flow, I kept wondering if real people talk like that. I think that there were too many loose threads, I like books wrapped up more neatly. There's such a shocking thing happening at the end of the book, with such an impact on life in general, that I think the author should have provided more information instead of a general "we'll think about it".

The story is very heartbreaking. Slate and Ash live for each other

I thought Slate and Ash made a great couple and their relationship seemed to be full of a lot of love and laughter. There wasn't as much angst as I thought there might be in this book but there was a lot of strenth behind Slate's grieving. I loved the twist at the end, although I would have liked the story to go on a little longer and wrap up some of the loose ends.

This is a fairly quick read - the story of Slate and Ash. I didn't read the description that closely before I read it so I was surprised at the rough beginning. It was very romantic - though tragic. I liked both MCs and it was an interesting twist at the end.

A multi-published author of GLBT erotic, romantic fiction since 2004, I love trying new things -- I have 1001 crazy ideas and want to write them all! I exist primarily on caffeine and pixels, take “camera shy” to a whole new level, and persist in trying to learn the pennywhistle despite being woefully tone-deaf. During the summer, I’m a wild woman with henna.
