I'm not sure if I'm giving 5 stars to the book because I loved it or because I got fond of the series and the characters, maybe a bit of both things.
This couple was great, the chemistry between them was amazing and how everything developed even better. I loved the change from vampire to were.

This series is a fun, quick read. I give this books 5 stars because I really enjoy reading them, but they can't compare to more serious or complex books. It's something to read when you're ...more

The best book in this series!!

After

Be Still My Vampire Heart (Love at Stake, #3) of course :)

Not like the previous books, that got many humor aspect, this book is more emotional.

And then she must go to anger management, because some worker in her club, Horny Devils is complaint that she can't control her anger. She, of course, disagree to go to...more

BEST BEST BEST novel so far in the series!!! Much better than my previous fave Be Still my Vampire Heart. I was so sure i would hate Vanda but hell, i can be so wrong sometimes. I lover her character.. and i love Phil!!! can i take him home? ^_^

(view spoiler)[I can testify that all of the previous book in this series is really quite hilarious.. BUT this one? make that times 10! It started on a really light hearted funny note wherein Vanda is summoned for accusations and then later on...more

Usually Kerrelyn Sparks' books are a little bit kooky, a little bit of suspense and a little bit of old timey romance. And when I say 'OLD', I mean like 1,000 yr. old vamps from Scotland, etc. The Love at Stake series continues with the "new" generation from America (the "older" generation were from Europe and are terribly old fashioned) with Vanda, a Polish ex-harem girl of Roman's but who now owns and runs a male strip club (her dancers are hilarious). When she was a par...more

It was good. Not as good as the previous few though. Part of the problem is that although it's (finally) written from the female vamp (Vanda)/mortal-ish male (Phil) perspective, the characters fall into the exact same patterns as the previous books. He has to save her, emotionally and physically. She's an emotional mess. He's strong and secure. He fixes her and convinces her happily-ever-after is possible. What's wrong with a little bit of female heroism for once? Or equal opportunity saving? Co...more

Surprise! I cared about the plot in this one!

Seriously, usually this series has one purpose and one focus, and that's to get the couple in bed and give the reader smut. All done tongue in cheek (as it were, heh) while self-parodying the whole supernatural erotica genre. There was a silly "plot" involved that overarced the series, but it was really just a vehicle to get one or both of the lovers kidnapped or put them in a bit of "danger." I say that in quotes becau...more

Another fun romp in the land of the good bottle fed vamps vs. the malcontents. The notion of a vamp having anger management issues and being forced to partake of counseling, not just once, but twice cracks me up!!

I love Vanda, she definately marches to the beat of a drummer all her own. While she struggles through her anger issues we find out a lot about her and her past and just why she has those anger issues. He sponser is a werewolf, Phil, who has alterior motives. Watching ...more

This book was amazing. At first, I didn't think I'd like it since the female was the vampire and the male was a shifter. But by the end, they moved up to one of my favorite couples. The determination and persistence from Phil was impressive. And Vanda...well, Vanda is amazing. So tough and strong and with all her emotions buried deep, on the brink of explosion. I didn't think I could possibly like her. But by the end of the book, I was bawling. The psychological growth that takes place t...more

For the last three years Vanda Barkowski has managed her own Vamp nightclub, where sexy Vamp men dance and strip for excited Vamp women. With her purple-dyed hair, purple catsuit and whip coiled around her waist, Vanda lives to shock. She also has something of an anger management problem, and now the Coven Master, Roman Dragenesti, has ordered her to undergo anger management sessions. Again.

Only one man steps forward to sponsor the fiery vampire: Phil Jones, a mortal and Vanda's day ...more

Just finished, and I most say that I was on a 3 star rating through the whole book, right up till the last 2 pages.. The ending alone is worth one more star..

I wasnt really into this one, as much as most of the others in the series.. I've never really been a Vanda/Phil fan, so maybe thats why, but the end made me all teary, so I had to give it 4 stars..

A lot more 'action' in this one though.. (The good and the bad kind - Wink Wink) and I really liked that.

Once again another action packed vampire romance. This time, both leading characters are supernatural....even if they both don't know it.

Vanda Barkowski just got slapped with another court order to receive anger management classes and Phil Jones steps up to be her sponsor.

Back when she lived in Roman's Harlem, she constantly flirted with him, knowing as her guard he was forbidden to react to her taunting, but behind her playful ways, she really did like him.

The seventh book in the Love At Stake series. Note: may contain spoilers, read at own risk!

This was a very good book to read. The reason why is in the title, "Forbidden". This is an interesting story and very sweet as well.

Phil is the main character of this story is not a vampire, but a shape-shifter, or lycan, or werewolf (whichever you prefer). The vampire is Vanda, a woman who used to live with Roman and was a part of his harem from the first book in this ser...more

Well I just want to start by saying... Holy Crap Phil is 10 out of 10 on the hotness scale lol. Jeez! It's not very often that a Werewolf tops a vampire for me but Phil did it. I love the whole Alpha male thing he has going on. I am such a sucker for the strong, sexy possessive males. Phil is perfect.
I have always wondered what Vanda would be like. To be honest she reminds me of myself a little. I'm not quite so full of rage lol but I am certainly hot headed and an throw quite the tantr...more

Forbidden Nights With a Vampire is the seventh installment in Love at Stake and this time cupid chose Vanda Barkowski, owner of the vampire strip club and Phil, day guard and werewolf. Kerrelyn Sparks presents us with facts about the two of them we were not aware of so far and built a romantic story worth reading. Vanda has a terrible past and doesn't know how to deal with it, instead of looking for a way to cope with the awful memories she lashes out on everyone around her, but Phil won't have ...more

Book #7 in the Love at Stake series. 3 1/2 stars.

I thought this book was a good solid read. I marked it down because I didn't really relate to the heroine, Vanda, that much, even though I loved her as a secondary character in the other books. What made me give this book a half star was because I thought the ending was amazing! It was very thought out and touching and a very nice way to end the book. Ms. Sparks does use some repetitive words (especially during her love scenes, ...more

I liked this book. Vanda's history was set up pretty well and I always liked Phil. I'm glad we got to know some more about his past. I like how they brought Jedrek back into the story a little, explaining why he seemed a little grudging towards Vanda in Ian's book. I also like how she addressed the issue of having children in a relationship where the woman is a Vamp. And we got more about the school, which sounds awesome. I hope the next book is about Phineas; he deserves some love.

I've read the other books in this series and enjoyed them, so figured what the hell. And as with the others, I was not dissapointed. In this book, Sparks tells the story of Vanda and Phil. I had liked both characters in the previous books, so was interested to see how their story would play out. As with the other books, I liked the story, and its characters. I also enjoyed the author's wit, and the twists with the plot. I know some of my friends are laughing at the idea of a paranormal rom...more

I loved both of the characters. I loved how they got to know each other better in this novel even though they knew each other before. I think their prior relationship helped to make this story so believable. He was so devoted to her no matter what she said or did which added to the romance level. This was a fast read with a lot of action. Hard to put down!

I enjoyed the shifter angle, however I wish some of the vampire authors would leave the series as a vampire series.

Kerrelyn Sparks continues to write wonderful, light, PNR novels. This novel was charming. It had me giggling and sometimes teary. I loved Vanda and Phil. Their story continued exactly where the last one left off.

Vanda and Phil are total opposites. Phil,a security guard, is a werewolf and Vanda,a club owner, is vampire. Vanda does not know that Phil is a werewolf eventhough she has known him for the past 8 years. She has always had a crush on Phil and Phil has loved Vanda for yea...more

Another great story in the Love At Stake Series with the Malcontents (bad vampires) & The Vamps (good vampires)

Vanda Barkowski has a temper and is being sued by some ex employees of hers as well as Corky Courrant (a presenter on The Nigthly News on the Vampire Digital Network). Phil Jones (a shape shifter) has been in awe of Vanda ever since he became a guard working for Angus McKay’s security firm 7 years ago. Phil has just volunteered to be Vanda’s sponsor for anger management that s...more

I liked it. I wanted to cry, it also had a beautiful ending. I was kind of amazed that it has a Polish heroin, since a lot of American books don't have anything to do with Poland at all. It is a small country, and I am from there too. Which made me love the book more! I was eager, or mare than, to read it once I found out. It's a delightful piece of work by one of my favourite authors, Kerrelyn Sparks.

Forbiddin Nights With A Vampire has Phil protecting Vanda once again. Vanda's history and the story of her life is revealed and also why she hates werewolfs. Phil's life before joining the vampires and his secret of him being an Alpha werewolf is also revealed. The war has broken out and both sides have a man taken hostage. It is a good book that makes you wonder about what problems will be in the next one.

Now I wish there were more books based on the shifters , and the banished kids that were in this book . That would make a really good like relating series , didn't know the word for that lol . This series is really good though . (:

I really can't get into these Love at Stake books. Sure, the sex is smokin' but I need more than that. I may try book #1, (How To Marry a Millionaire Vampire), but I'm kinda tired of reading about "blissky" and other nonsense words.
