SHE HAS A BODY MADE FOR TEMPTATION...AND A KISS TO DIE FOR.

The war between otherworlders and humans changed Earth beyond recognition. It also saved Bride McKells's life. Before, the gorgeous vampire was a target for every fanatic with a stake and a crucifix. Now, she's free to roam the streets -- and desperate to find others of her kind. One man claims to have the answers...more

I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!! What can I say! I love Devyn's character. He's sexy, he's sweet, he's funny, he's hot, he's self-centered, and he thinks he's God's gift to women... And I've been waiting for his book since he showed up in this series in book 2.

I really enjoyed this story, so far my favorite in the series, but they get better with each book. I definetely recommend the Alien Huntress series to everyone. The alien angle is done perfectly, and it's a...more

Seduce The Darkness is book 4 in the Alien Huntress series. This time we get to see what makes the flirtatious AIR agent, Devyn, tick. I haven't read all the books in the series, but I did read the last one, Savor Me Slowly, so I'm pretty up to speed on the world. I think they stand on their own pretty well, but you'll probably enjoy it more if you have the back story.

Bride McKells has been a vampire for many years. She's never met any of her kind and lives in fear of being hunted for what she...more

Good read, action paranormal plot with a futuristic setting. I haven't read the earlier books so I can't vouch for them or whether reading order is important. I can say that although there were interesting references to past storylines - the author provided what you really needed to know to navigate this one. The hero is Devyn, an agent for Alien Investigation and Removal, with a slick beauty, powerful skills, a voracious appetite for women and a very narcissistic personality. At first you figur...more

The Devilish Devyn Meets His Bride!

Since this installment has already been thoroughly reviewed, my review will be brief. This book was superb! Devyn, Targon King, A.I.R. agent and full time ladies' man meets his match when Bride McKells' plows into him literally. Bride McKells is a vampire who has secretly lived 80yrs lonewolf style topside among humans, never knowing a single other vampire. Unbeknownst to her, vampires reside underground. Involuntarily separated and in desperate search for her...more

I liked this one even better than the 3d book in this series. Both Devyn and Bride were such interesting and fun characters to read about. Devyn is pretty much a rake, and he's proud of it and everybody knows it. And while Bride is turned of by this at first, I loved how she completely accepted that part of him by the end. Never thought that slut could be an endearment for a man, but it totally worked.

I'm not a vampire fan, even not when they are aliens, so again I didn't have high expectations....more

I LOVED IT!!!!

This is the story of Devyn and Bride. We met Bride in Aleah's book and now we get her story. After looking for Aleah for years Bride finally stumbled on her scent, only to find not her once best friend but Devyn.

Bride would do anything to make sure her friend is alright and of course Dev takes advantage of the fact that Bride doesn't know that Aleah is in fact an AIR agent. After a few incidents that had Dev trying to seduce Bride and 'Besting' her they finally track her down and...more

This is the fourth book in the Alien Huntress series by Gena Showalter. While I thought the first two books in this series were okay; I really didn't like the third book all that much. Unfortunately this book followed the third book as far as how much I liked it. I did really like her first book in the Extraordinary girl series "Playing with Fire".

Bride is a vampire who lives on the Earth's surface. She has never met another of her kind and has, for some reason, started getting sick when she dri...more

For it's smut genre, I thought it was pretty creative with incorporating vampires and aliens into the same plot. The premise of the story was nicely done, you have the "tortured" prince and a vampire who suffers from amnesia. 2 troubled people slam into each other, and everything they least expect seems to happen to them. Devyn reminded me of Barney from 'How I met your mother' series only in the sense that they are both egotistical playboys. Unfortunately he did not come with Barney's sense of...more

Bride is a vampire and as far as she knows, the only one of her kind. She's desperate to find someone like her so that she can understand herself. Her only true friend and the most special person in the world to her Aleaha, has vanished and Bride is on a mission to find her.

Devyn, who has sex written all over him, runs into Bride and soon becomes obsessed with her. He's not one to be tied down so he's enamored with Bride and furious with her all at the same time. They are both stubborn and try t...more

I decided to give this series a try since this book is currently (for another day or two) a free online read at Pocket After Dark. So, the upside here is that it was the entire book (they also offer sample chapters of books there) and I got to try out a new author for free. The downside is that (a) I had to read it at my computer, which can be a little annoying, and (b) I was thrown into the middle of the series with book #4.

Coming into it at book 4, there were some pretty obvious goings on that...more

Read this book AFTER Deep Kiss of Winter. I was reading this book trying to figure out where on Earth (or any other planet) Macy/Aleaha and Breean came from. Well they came from the story Tempt Me Eternally.

Now onto Seduce the Darkness. I LOVED Devyn from Enslave Me Sweetly. He has to be one of my most favorite male characters in a book. He is cocky, conceited, narcissistic, and an egomaniac and his is contagious. The people around him tend to take on his personality quirks. Not only does he get...more

I give Bride total props for being able to see past Devyn's less than chaste past. Personally, I wouldn't have put the time into a relationship with him, but to each his own. They're actually well-suited for one another, since he's freakishly attached to Dallas and Bride is freakishly attached to Aleaha/Macy. I got lost a few times, though. Devyn said that Bride basically made him into her mate in her mind after seeing him and scenting Aleaha on him. However, it seems to me like when she first s...more

Seduce the Darkness by Gena Showalter is a continuation of the Alien Huntress novels. In this book we are introduced to Bride McKell the last and only living vampire living, or so she thinks. Bride is constantly searching for a lost childhood friend and shape shifter who can shift and take on another's identity,Aleaha. Bride happens to run into Devyn, King of the Targons (one of many otherworlder species) who happens to have the same sent of Aleaha on him...more

I'm not sure what I was expecting from SEDUCE THE DARKNESS by Gena Showalter. I think I was expecting a good book, a fun and entertaining read. What I got instead, was a fantastic book with an absolutely wonderful story! I think I expected the passion in SEDUCE THE DARKNESS to take center stage with a plot line that moved the story forward but just added cushion to the romantic side of the story. Instead, the story was really quite wonderful with the romantic element acting as the icing on the c...more

I gave this a three because the plot was exciting and suspenseful and I couldn't put it down. However--and this is a big one-- I didn't like the hero, Devyn, at all! He was egotistical, obnoxious, hateful, self-centered... well I could go on. He didn't even redeem himself by finally falling in love with the heroine. He had been so awful to her, I couldn't forgive him. I wanted to bitch-slap him. Time and time again.

Another plus was because it brought closure to another Gena Showalter, Tempt Me E...more

I think I've found my new go-to author for whenever I'm in the mood for a great, fun, and sexy story! As far as romances go, it has none of that typical, melodramatic feel. It's cheeky, over-the-top, and heavy on the sexy - in all of the best ways. Gena's sense of humor is great and it definitely adds something special to the interactions of the hero, Devyn, and heroine, Bride.

At the beginning, Devyn is a whore of a man with an oversize ego and sense of entitlement when it comes to women and sex...more

What did I think? TRIPLE WOW!!!

I've never really taken to Devyn, he is so egotistical and there is nothing in the universe that will change that fact - not even Bride!!! - However, and it is a HUGE HOWEVER, Devyn grew on me at an incredible speed, I was loving him before I even knew it, I fell for both him and his ego!!! .... and so did Bride...

Bride is looking for her friend that she lost a number of years back and she believes she is the only vampire in existence, well let's face it, vampires...more

I've been enjoying the Alien Huntress series so far and have vastly been looking forward to Bride and Devyn’s story (who was introduced in Enslave Me Sweetly). I also wanted to see how McKell was introduced.
I enjoyed the story between Devyn and Bride, although at times I really didn’t like Devyn. He was vastly arrogant and sure of himself and constantly being a perv with Bride which at times really got on my nerves. I especially had problems with the last part of the book where Bride is held in...more

I am a little ashamed to admit that I could not put this book down even though it meant ignoring all the other things I had to do. It just caught my attention that much. Showalter creates another fascinating world that blends the everyday with the supernatural. A world where not everyone is human and everyone knows it. I loved Bride’s toughness and vulnerable side. Devyn was a little harder for me to like. In the beginning I did not like to see that he was willing to force Bride to do certain th...more

I've been working on the Alien Huntress series for awhile now, and I love it for being such light reading. After reading textbooks and literary books, this was just the thing for me to sit down and relax with.

We've moved on to Devyn's story in this one, and I love it so much! It's always fun to see a playboy fall in love and became a one-woman guy. I think Showalter does a good job in keeping it realistic. He's very confused about his feelings at first and refuses to accept it, but once he does,...more

I LOVE Gena Showalter's Alien Huntress series and read the first three books in the series eagerly...but I have to say that whilst I liked the idea of this book (the fourth in the series) and I enjoyed the introduction of new characters and the next step in some of the ongoing storylines, I didn't enjoy this one as much as the previous books.

I do love Devyn's character so enjoyed reading a book about him, but I felt a bit disappointed as I found it a bit slower going than the others and actually...more

Main characters are Bride and Devyn. This is her Alien Huntress series book 4. Bride has been a vampire living in New Chicago for over 80 years. She does not know any other vampires and fears she is the only one. She has learned her powers little by little over the years some with disastrous results. One evening she smells her best friend. The best friend disappeared many years ago and Bride has continued to look for her. She follows her scent and this is how she meets egotisical Devyn. A man to...more

The fourth (of the adult books) Alien Huntress novel continues to expand on the awesome world building and mythology of this alternate future, where aliens and humans live tensely together. The mystery of the disease-spreading Schon aliens continues in this installment, and I'm curious to see how it plays out in the next.

Overall, I enjoyed the story. The vampire mythology is something I hope to see more of in the future, and heroine Bride's ignorance of her own powers and people was refreshing....more

Seduce the Darkness is part of Ms. Showalter's Alien Huntress series. Due to a war between otherworlders and humans, Earth is barely recognizable but still habitable. Bride McKells is a vampire who secretly resides amongst the humans. She used to be hunted by fanatics but since the war she has been able to reside undetected... her only problem she has never met another vampire and she has many unanswered questions about her race. Then one day she meets Devyn, King of the Targons - he promises to...more

I had grabbed this from the library not realizing that it was from the Alien Hunteress novels. (Another impulse grab from me) Shortly after I started reading it, something was nagging at me. It seemed familiar. Then a bright burst appeared and I remembered that I had read a short story, Temp Me Eternally, from the Deep Kiss of Winter book that was shared with Kresley Cole's short story from her Immortals After Dark novels. I really liked it! I loved this vampire and her love for her lost friend....more

I got hooked on the Alien Huntress series after reading the Lords of the Underworld and loving Showalter's style.
She created this future world realistically without too much emphasis on sci-fi. The romance takes precedence, which is great for me!
Devyn is a character that got introduced in a previous book and left me wanting to hear his story. I loved the way he changes throughout the book from a heartless womaniser into a man in love. Bride is a likeable character too, a vampire who thinks she...more
