I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!! What can I say! I love Devyn's character. He's sexy, he's sweet, he's funny, he's hot, he's self-centered, and he thinks he's God's gift to women... And I've been waiting for his book since he showed up in this series in book 2.

I really enjoyed this story, so far my favorite in the series, but they get better with each book. I definetely recommend the Alien Huntress series to everyone. The alien angle is done perfectly, and it's a...more

Seduce The Darkness is book 4 in the Alien Huntress series. This time we get to see what makes the flirtatious AIR agent, Devyn, tick. I haven't read all the books in the series, but I did read the last one, Savor Me Slowly, so I'm pretty up to speed on the world. I think they stand on their own pretty well, but you'll probably enjoy it more if you have the back story.

Bride McKells has been a vampire for many years. She's never met any of her kind and lives in fear of being hunted for what she...more

Loved this couple! Decadent Devyn of Targonia was as delightful during his star turn as he has been in his previous supporting roles as he manipulates Bride McKells to do his lascivious bidding in exchange for information. Bride, who's earliest memory is of her draining a good Samaritan in a dirty New Chicago alley is desperate for that information. She wants and needs to find out about vampires since all she has learned about vampirism has been learned from paranormal romance...more

Devyn, King of the Targons, is a worthy fighter and has a sexual appetite like none other. After one encounter with a woman, he is done and moves on to the next. None resist his charm, except for Bride. Bride is a vampire in search of her lost friend and information about her kind. Devyn has the answers she needs and he will use it as leverage to get what he desires. Bride.

When you first meet Devyn in Enslave Me Sweetly, he comes of as a womanizing, conceded man who will do anything to...more

For some odd reason, I have put off reading the Alien Huntress series by Gena Showalter. I very much enjoy the LotU series, and even the Atlantis, which many seem to have issue with. I can say I have never read a book by her that I didn't really like. But I couldn't seem to get myself to give this series a shot. Well, I finally decided that I would try Seduce the Darkness, mostly because the cover was hot. So, having next to no expectation of enjoying this book, I got a very pleasant surprise.

Good read, action paranormal plot with a futuristic setting. I haven't read the earlier books so I can't vouch for them or whether reading order is important. I can say that although there were interesting references to past storylines - the author provided what you really needed to know to navigate this one. The hero is Devyn, an agent for Alien Investigation and Removal, with a slick beauty, powerful skills, a voracious appetite for women and a very narcissistic personality. At first you figur...more

What did I think? TRIPLE WOW!!!

I've never really taken to Devyn, he is so egotistical and there is nothing in the universe that will change that fact - not even Bride!!! - However, and it is a HUGE HOWEVER, Devyn grew on me at an incredible speed, I was loving him before I even knew it, I fell for both him and his ego!!! .... and so did Bride...

Bride is looking for her friend that she lost a number of years back and she believes she is the only vampire in existence, well let's face it, vampires...more

WoW! Okay Devyn and Bride are a cute couple. How Gena was able to make Devyn the "S*** that they know all over the Galaxy" but still redeemable and worthy of love, I have no clue, but she pulled it off. LOL.

Once again the action was great, the exchanges between Devyn and Bride, heck Devyn's exchanges with everyone was hilarious! But with he and Bride they were hilarious and oh so sexy. Another great chapter in this series. I love how someone as jaded as Devyn and self serving, was able to find...more

This is a love story. The serial playboy, Devyn, has finally met his match. Her name is Bride and she's a vampire. though she knows hardly anything about being one of the species.
The meeting was an accident? or maybe the fates knew that these two needed to be together in order to ensure Bride's survival. Devyn is Bride's life blood and soon her heart will follow in that same direction. Devyn will give it all for her, blood, trust, faith and even brave what might be the depths of hell as he know...more

I think I've found my new go-to author for whenever I'm in the mood for a great, fun, and sexy story! As far as romances go, it has none of that typical, melodramatic feel. It's cheeky, over-the-top, and heavy on the sexy - in all of the best ways. Gena's sense of humor is great and it definitely adds something special to the interactions of the hero, Devyn, and heroine, Bride.

At the beginning, Devyn is a whore of a man with an oversize ego and sense of entitlement when it comes to women and sex...more

For it's smut genre, I thought it was pretty creative with incorporating vampires and aliens into the same plot. The premise of the story was nicely done, you have the "tortured" prince and a vampire who suffers from amnesia. 2 troubled people slam into each other, and everything they least expect seems to happen to them. Devyn reminded me of Barney from 'How I met your mother' series only in the sense that they are both egotistical playboys. Unfortunately he did not come with Barney's sense of...more

This is the fourth book in the Alien Huntress series by Gena Showalter. While I thought the first two books in this series were okay; I really didn't like the third book all that much. Unfortunately this book followed the third book as far as how much I liked it. I did really like her first book in the Extraordinary girl series "Playing with Fire".

Bride is a vampire who lives on the Earth's surface. She has never met another of her kind and has, for some reason, started getting sick when she dri...more

Seduce the Darkness is book number four in Gena Showalter’s Alien Huntress series. I really have enjoyed almost everything Gena has ever written. Her books are like candy. They are filled with such wonderful goodness. You have to love a hero who basks in his greatness and wants everyone to know it. Devyn, the king of the Targons is such a hero who should disgust readers. He is proud that he can make any woman sleep with him. He is the ultimate horn dog, or a big man whore. But Gena has written h...more

I love Gena's Alien Huntress series, and have devoured all of them (still anxiously awaiting Dallas's story)
Seduce the Darkness is my absolute favorite out of the 6 books that have been released thus far. I'm not quite sure what it is about that makes it stand out for me. But I am fairly certain it has something to do with Devyn. He is extremely cocky, but in such a way that is so extremely entertaining that it makes it impossible not to love him (while secretly waiting for the woman to come alo...more

Beautiful Bride McKells is a vampire. She has no memory of her early childhood and the only reason they know her name is the brand/tattoo on her wrist, and that she had been found and placed in several foster homes run by abusive people. The day one pervert parent tried to rape her was the day she knew she was a vampire, because her fangs dropped down and she latched on and drained the perv dry. Which put her on the run and she found what was to be her best friend: Aleaha. When scrounging for fo...more

I'm still not sure how to feel about this book.

I'd been looking forward to seeing Devyn's book, to seeing him being shown up. He's such a womanizer and smartass, I was pretty excited to see who would end up being his pair. He showed in Eden's book that he's actually a good guy.

Bride didn't disappoint. I love her. I love her mouth, her backstory, her dedication to taking care of her best friend... Her powers were awesome and it was a fun and different twist on vampires. Showalter usually doesn't...more

I was surprised by how much I liked this book. I read the first story or prequel to the Alien Huntress series a long time ago and didn't like that one at all, but for some reason, I had this book on my To Read shelf, so I gave it a try. The premise of the series is that aliens of all sorts came to Earth, there were lots of wars, and now they coexist in an uneasy truce, though Earth's resources were significantly depleted or harmed during the war.

Devyn is an otherworlder with the power to contro...more

Several times I almost threw this book across the room. Devyn, aka, controlling asshole, pissed me off very frequently for about the first half of the book. However, his character grew emotionally throughout the book and his eyes were opened. I loved Bride. I enjoy Showalter's LOTU series too, but like this one better. Too bad she writes more of the other one. I like this world and the different species.

Devyn, King of the Targons, has had a lifelong goal to sample a female from every race and breed of alien and human. When he meets Bride McKells, he's not terribly interested, since he's already had a vampire, but as it turns out, he just can't get her out of his mind.
Vampires are an interesting addition to Showalter's Alien Huntress series. She weaves them in nearly seamlessly, implying they are another race of alien, just one who's been here on earth much longer than the more recent alien imm...more

Devyn is delish! Really enjoyed this book but think I need to chase up the rest of the Alien Huntress series to fully appreciate the sub plots. Great!

Now this is my favorite book so far from Alien Huntress series...everything is fantastic, and Devyn...OMG I adore him :))

This is a futuristic, paranormal romance set in Chicago. I love it when an author can make me go from disliking a character to loving them. Devyn is that sort of character. It was Bride that could totally change him. Their banter was snarky, funny, and leads to mutual admiration and into love. This is the fourth book in the Alien Huntress series, I did feel I was missing a bit of the back story and quickly checked the website to get caught up. Justine Eyre does a fantastic job narrating. I will...more

In real life Devlyn would definitely be in therapy for treatment-resistant sexual addiction. In this story however, he is one on-fire, mega-attractive, walking sex god, with a massive ego and typical alpha male attitude. Until....he meets his hearts desire, Bride. Together, they grow and change, building an invincible wall against the enemies of AIR. Brides confidence, powers and personality, are certainly strong enough to tame the gorgeous Devlyn and it's easy to see how she disarms him. This w...more

"I'm very good at math. Example: Devyn plus Bride minus clothes plus a hard, flat surface multiplied by roaming hands equals greatest pleasure ever. When shall we begin?"
Seduce the Darkness is the fourth book in the Alien Huntress series.

Original Review can be found at Rantings of a Reading Addict.

My love for Seduce The Darkness revolves around the characters. Both the main characters as well as the side characters who we learn a little bit more about in each book. Devyn is so full of himself and his effect on woman it is funny. Yes, he is a slut, and there is actually truth behind his claims of irresistibility. He is truly stumped by Bride resisting his charms. He is even more stumped by his fascination with her. Is it just a c

I almost stopped reading this book less than halfway thru do to Gena's increasingly satirical writing style. But I love GS books, I mean really love her books, so after taking a little break I tried again. Thank heavens I did, as I really liked this story. I also enjoyed how she name-dropped several of her fav author friends in this tale :)

I had a difficult time finding any redeeming features in Dylan, a playboy King and AIR (Alien Investigation Something) agent. To say Dylan has a big ego is su...more

I liked this one even better than the 3d book in this series. Both Devyn and Bride were such interesting and fun characters to read about. Devyn is pretty much a rake, and he's proud of it and everybody knows it. And while Bride is turned of by this at first, I loved how she completely accepted that part of him by the end. Never thought that slut could be an endearment for a man, but it totally worked.

I'm not a vampire fan, even not when they are aliens, so again I didn't have high expectations....more

I'm not sure what I was expecting from SEDUCE THE DARKNESS by Gena Showalter. I think I was expecting a good book, a fun and entertaining read. What I got instead, was a fantastic book with an absolutely wonderful story! I think I expected the passion in SEDUCE THE DARKNESS to take center stage with a plot line that moved the story forward but just added cushion to the romantic side of the story. Instead, the story was really quite wonderful with the romantic element acting as the icing on the c...more
