What can I say about the Kissed By an Angel trilogy... hhmmmm. The first book was alright. I wish that Ms. Chandler would have played up the romance between Ivy and Tristan a little more. It was really hard to feel the emmotion of the characters. But I cannot complain too much on the subject because, once I started reading the second book, I was hooked and couldn't put my kindle down. I am a big fan of mystery, and the second and third books definitely have alot of it.

I think the book was written by an amateur It didn't make sense half the time. It didn't describe things well. The grammar wasn't very good. It was hard to distinct what was said out loud and what was said inside the persons head with the same font as everything else and parenthesis around them just like they're normal statments. But then it says she's been bffs with suzanne since 2nd grade. It also said she didnt know anyone and Suzanne was just her guide for her knew school. So was she new or did she live there her hole life? Then the author would put random events that were completely off topic and pointless. Like Ivy had been waiting for Suzanne since 6 o'clock. Not once mentioned for what or where. The book gives very little details about settings and characters. It was so bad that in the beginning she just threw names out there and gave little discription or mental ques.

She also didn't spend enough time on the connection between Ivy and Tristan. I didn't feel the love. I didn't feel the fact that they couldn't live without eachother. Honestly ot sounded like a junior high couple. At the moment where the authorvshould have zeroed in on the love between them she focused Ivy more on Gregory. It made Ivy seem as tho she didn't care for Tristan he was just kinda one of those guys u avoid but yet he's your "boyfriend". So I didn't sense any attraction much between them much other than in the pool just a tad when she learns how to swim. With that being said, during the second book it seems like "Ivy will never be able to live without her one true love Tristan" bull crap if what they had was anything like what was in the first book she should be able to move on no problem. The book was emotionally detatched beyond belief.
I honestly have never read one book in my life that I have disliked. But here it is my first. I would not recommend this book. I have given every book I read at least a 4 or 5 star rating, this is the first low rating I've given. I was very disappointed. The discription on the back sounded like it would be a great book. So the plot was excellent it was just presented very poorly. I honestly think I could do better. I'm sorry but the Novel was horribly written(less)

Without a doubt, Kissed by an Angel has one of the most romantic tales and best structured mysteries that I’ve ever read. Ivy and Tristan’s love for each other is so strong and sweet that it made me cry after Tristan’s death because they couldn’t be together as they once were. I did find it a little strange how fast and hard they fell for each other, but it did make the story more romantic. The plotline is very complicated due to varying love interest and other secret character connections, yet it is still pretty easy to follow and understand at most times. I definitely appreciated the unpredictability of most of the plot as well. Some of the characters I felt could’ve been better developed except for the most important to the story, Ivy, Tristan, and Gregory, who were all characterized well. I really liked Chandler’s explanation for angels and their abilities because it added a creative and supernatural flair to the story. Readers will have a difficult time setting Kissed by an Angel down because of the suspense and its powerful message of love outweighing all.

Fans of romance novels and mysteries involving life after death will love Kissed by an Angel, especially those who enjoyed Reincarnation by Suzanne Weyn, Far From You by Lisa Schroeder, Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin, and Jo-Jo and the Fiendish Lot by Andrew Auseon.

So I'm not gonna lie, I bought this book for the cover artwork! It was a little bit reminiscent of Twilight, so I couldn't resist. However, I ended up reallllyyyy loving it! The books were short and simple to read. I finished all three in a day and a half, and while the writing was confusing at times, the book wasn't horrible. I was left confused sometimes, the chapters were choppy and jumped all around. Ivy, the main character, would be in once place and then in the next paragraph it would be weeks later. Chandlers story is heart felt and well written. The love the characters develop for each other is believable and not very farfetched. There was a simple life quality to the story that made it appealing to me as a reader. There wasn't anything supernatural involved aside from the biggest twist in the story. One thing I was a bit weary about was the relationship between Tristan and Ivy at the beginning, I think it developed a little too quickly for my tastes and there was a few words like 'love' that I thought were appearing too early in the book and there should have been a bit more to their relationship before that was thrown in, but apart from that, everything went at a firm, steady pace that was enjoyable to read.

I loved the whole 'angel' element to the story, and Tristan's mission to save Ivy's life and try to convince her that he still loves her, even though he's dead? So sweet! And then when we find out that, after Tristan's death, Ivy has stopped believing in angels because she thinks they took Tristan away from her, was actually heartbroken for him. She couldn't see him and he was trying so hard to let her know that he was still there! There was a really powerful moral to that- I don't know if many people fully got this, but I loved the message to the story: that nothing can break true love, not even death at the max.

The book was written from both Tristan's and Ivy's point of views which I thought was great because we get to see what's going on in both of their heads. Throughout the book we see Tristan's loving attitude for Ivy again and again, he just never seems to give up! We can also feel Ivy's grief and the struggle to understand what is really going on with her step-brother Gregory.
I really liked Lacey's character! I was surprised, she was very fiesty and nothing like how I'd predicted when we first were introduced to her. Gregory? Ugh, it makes me physically angry to even think about him. I was extremely shocked by some of his actions, because you can't really expect the worst for somebody with his past, and his behaviour just disgusted me! I hated how he tricked Ivy and took advantage of her, I was a bit frustrated when she couldn't see what he really was behind that enchanting face he puts on.

Kissed by an Angel is a romantic, deceptive and spooky mystery from an author who's writing is deeply moving and entertaining.

In the begging of the book your introduced to the main character Ivy. Her mother is getting re-married so they are moving into her new stepfathers house. At the reception she meets Tristan, the school hottie who just happens to be working part time as a waiter that night. They begin hanging out and right when Ivy is sure that she is in love, Tristan was killed in a car crash. He is now an angel and Ivy can’t see him because she is too hurt and in shock to believe. While living life as a angel he discovers that is death wasn’t an accident, and his killer may be after Ivy. With the help of another angel he must learn how to protect her as strange things start happening and Ivy’s life is threatened.

The author, Elizabeth Chandler, who lives in Baltimore creates a imaginative love story that keeps you on your feel because you never know whats coming next. She made a point that true love can survive everything as Tristan fights for Ivy even after death has hit him. Overall it was a great book, and I would read it again. Books like this one really catch my interest, I even found myself thinking about what was going to happen when I couldn't read and find out for myself. I’d recommend it to anybody.(less)

This book was amazing and i couldn’t put it down no matter how hard i tried. Elizabeth Chandler really developed the characters so that you felt you were Ivy/Tristan and you had just lost your soul mate. The first book was really good and was probably my favorite because thats when Chandler goes back in time and shows their relationship from the beginning and i really enjoyed seeing how they fell in love even though it wasn’t love at first sight. In the second and third book she talks more about the crime that happened and starts to develop the characters that you forget more about in the first book. I guarantee that you will not be disappointed by the series and i thought that it seemed a lot more realistic then the twilight series. Kissed by and Angel seemed completely real and that it could have previously happened. At the end of the series i really wished that it had continued because i wanted to see what happened to the characters after all the things that had happened. The suspense that Elizabeth creates is fantastic i couldn’t put the book down and was up late at night trying to finish chapter after chapter. This is one of my favorite books of all time!!!!!

I read this book solely because North made me. “Oh it’s my favorite book I love it so much you have to read it” blah blah blah. So I read it, and I wasn’t all that impressed. I’m not saying it was a bad book. I wasn’t like horrified by it or anything. It just wasn’t the best book I’ve ever read, by a long shot. I thought some parts of it were muddled or confusing. Parts of the first book were really slow and I had to power through them. I agree with North that the characters were really strong, but a lot of them bugged me in little ways. At least two of them were stupidly oblivious, one was a creep, and one was just out of it. There were only a few that I liked completely. The ending of the book was way cheesy. I mean quesadilla, four cheese pizza, salsa con queso cheesy. It made me want to puke puppies and rainbows. The part that bugged me the most was that if your true love/soul mate dies, I don’t think you should have another love. Maybe that’s just me, but seriously if my one and only dies I’m not going to go find another one and only. But of course in this book we can’t have a sad main character. So she finds another. NOOOOO!!! I was angry! It just seems unethical. But whatever I guess. This book trilogy wasn’t terrible, but I wouldn’t search it out to read it again either. It’s just kinda there…

I read this one right after Marked, which probably explains why I liked it so much, because it is not so original after all, of course.
For me, the most interesting part of Kissed by an Angel was the swimmer-hero. My parents met at the swimming-pool, my husband and me love swimming, so this is not a surprise. I really liked the atmosphere of the pool in the book, how Tristan offers to teach Ivy to swim, how quite a few key events happened in this area of the school. This seems quite special...more

The only problem was Ivy didn't know it was him, and would get angry with her friends who were being controlled by Tristan. Tristans death wasn't the only death that year, it lead to a series of unfortunate events. Four other deaths and one attack, and one attempt at murder took place that dreadful year. All of the "accidents" some how had a relationship to Ivy, which is kind of creepy. Every guess about who the murderer was would be as far off as Tokyo, Japan is to New York, USA. Until one day, and a beautiful day at that, it smacked her right in the face. Ivy finally realized that this whole time she had been so close to the murderer, so in danger of getting hurt, so stupid not to realize that she pushed things a little too far!

Kissed By An Angle is a good read for all of you who jump into the mysteries, murders, and somewhat magical events, kind of book. The book sucked me in, I felt like I was standing there right next to Ivy helping her decide weather to jump off the tracks, or risk sprinting twenty feet from the rushing train. The way the book is written also helps with the story. Elizabeth Chandler switches from Ivy's to Tristan's point of view, narrated by a distant voice. I think she had some fun with this book, somehow she new that I would read it and, latterly, start yelling at Ivy for how stupid and innocent she was written to be. Although I blame it as the reason that I didn't have my room on time, I give this great, exciting, and obnoxious book a four star out of five. The plus four for good writing style, and great story plot. The minus one for the character Ivy. She drove me crazy, because it took her so long, to long, to figure it all out

I absolutaly love this book. I could not put it down once I began reading it. It is not only a teen romance novel but it is also a mystery. It is full of twists that will make you never want to put it down. This book was very well written.(less)

Kissed by an Angel, was basically a book about Ivy and Tristan's love. When Tristan dies Ivy feels as if she doesn't have a life anymore. She also stops believeing in angels. When Tristan becomes an angel, she can't see him because she doesn't believe anymore. When her stepbrother Gregory tries to warm up to her, strange things happen. Dead boyfriend=guardian angel. Who doesn't love a little love/death all in one suspenseful BIG book? (This book is a trilogy......or rather in three parts.....I don't feel like they could really stand alone.)

My daughter borrowed this from a friend and I stayed up all night trying to read the whole thing before she had to return it this morning. I got as far as Chapter 8 of the third book. (And then I slept soundly for five hours.) While it is three books published together in one volume, I think of it as one book.
