Not too shabby. Typical Realms novel about two genesai sisters, one of fire and one of water, one of whom is kidnapped and the other needs to save.
This novel takes place after the death of Mystra and several years after the Spellplague her death provoked. The water genesai teams up with a human, a half elf and a fey hunter in the search for her fire sister who was kidnapped by a cult of religious fanatics. They travel through the forest of the Rut that was once on ocean before the plag...more

This was not a great read. The characters were shallow and uninteresting. I did not care if they lived or died, well I was hoping they would die so the book would end sooner, but alas I was not so lucky. I understand that this is your basic read and forget fantasy, but I was hoping for a little more.
This is the only forgotten realms book in the last 20 years that I just could not finish. I got about half way through and just couldn't read it anymore. Maybe i will try to read it again in the future, but right now, can't waste my time.

I am a freelance writer (horror, fantasy, and some occasional sci-fi) married and living in the same house with a psychotic feline creature that most people mistake for a cat. I'm occasionally addicted to sudoku and cannot pass up a good riddle, logic puzzle, or mystery (my wife refuses to watch CSI with me and I play Clue with a vengeance). I play D&D as often as I can and like trying to kill my ...more
