Dus trek ...more

Halfway trough the book I didn't see any progress in the story-line as well as the development of the main characters. The writing style is really annoying to me at this point, as well as the overall thoughts of the main characters. To me this book showed even more the lack of character-development and stayed with stereotype personalities then the previous ones in the series.
The quote below is an example. Serena just met a Dutch snowboarding team on holida
In the book, “I like it like that a Gossip girl novel”, what kept me reading was the interesting, catty, back stapping, teenage stories. I picked this book because I started watching the series on TV. And it got me interested and I wanted to see the differences. The portion of the book that was my favorite was the part where Jordy and Vanessa were on a date. The book interested me with the sneaky, evil planning, and back stapping things girls do behind even their own friend’s backs. This book ma ...more

Blair is my favorite character in the books, and close to my favorite character in the TV show. What's weird about reading these is that I can't tell if they're actually being written better as the series progressive, or if I'm just more accustomed to it and it doesn't strike me as being as shitty. It has now been a week sense I read this and all I really remember happening in this, in particular, is that Blair almost fucks Serena's brother, who is described as hot. I like that Blair keeps almos ...more

The fifth novel in the Gossip Girl series. It's spring break in New York City and everyone who can afford it is heading to Sun Valley to ski. Serena and Blair go together, but don't stay together as Serena finds comfort in Nate, and Blair finds true love with Serena's older brother Erik. Nate brings his new girlfriend, Georgina, who seems to have a past with a certain it-girl. Back in the city, Dan is trying to make it as an poet, while his on again off again girlfriend Vanessa works out things ...more
I heard so many people talking about Gossip Girl and how cool it was that I wanted to check it out, after being immensely disappointed by the series.
Well... The books are, at least this one, are not better! The plot was absent and uneventful. The characters boring and annoying. I found nothing positive to say about it and I will absolutely not read any others.
I mean I honestly don't know why I'm still reading these, hoping they'll get better. None of the characters have any redeeming qualities. Blair is still my favorite even though she's referred to as a bitch. However she never actually does anything bitchy except think bitchy thoughts about all of the ignoramuses around her. Somehow all of these amazing things happen to Serena even though she could quite possibly be the most blissfully self absorbed characters in the book. I will finish this serie ...more

My Original Post

Warning: SPOILERS!

Hello Dear Readers! And Happy Lazy Sunday!

I'm at Scruff's this weekend but I thought I would break up the monotony of my weekend with one of the book reviews I promised you in this post. As most of you know, I was a huge fan of the Gossip Girl television series and I had been wanting to read the books. Well, I finally got a hold of them and started reading them at the end of January. I finished up book 11 recently and am finally ready to write out the review.

It's funny. Usually, I read the book before I see the movie, but there haven't been too many book series that TV shows have been based on that I've watched. Bones is one of them, but those books are so different it's really only the Temperance Brennan character who is the same. When I do read a book and see the movie I'm inevitably disappointed in how the movie portrayed a character or changed something. I hardly ever think the movie change was for the better, but in the case of Gossip Girl the ...more
Senior year, spring break. What other four words do you need to sum up the drama in this book?

This book is full of drinking (as always), drugs (as always), and relationships. As I've said before, I really like that Nate is beginning to mature into an adult. I'm also glad that he finally realized that Georgie is totally not even worth it. She's crazy and not the good kind. Serena on the other hand, she is constantly striving for attention. It's almost to the point where I wish I could slap her a
I would like to recommend this book my close friend Selena Frei. Because I always talk to her about the series and we both love gossip girl. I think the author wrote this book with the intention that this book would be great to young teens. My favorite character would have to be Jenny Humphrey because she is appealing but doesn’t let people walk over her. In the book she is caught between her relationship with Leo and her friendship with Elise Wells. I think every girl has been through that. My ...more
My expectations for "I Like It Like That" weren't very high considering I had no idea what would be brought up next. But I was impressed with how, for the most part, all of the characters matured in their own ways (and how certain people are beginning to get closer in relationships-- teehee!)

Anyway, in reference to my last review, where I had begun to speculate who Gossip Girl really might be and Chuck's (view spoiler), I can now confirm the fact that Chuck is

How I Came To Own This Book: I generally read all the GG books as they came first.

The Plot: Everyone's favourite private school princesses & prepsters are back and ready for Spring Break! Blair & Serena seem to be on the ins and ready to head out on a fabulous ski trip to Idaho - where they'll tangle with ex-boytoy Nate and his new wacky girlfriend Georgie. Meanwhile back in NYC, Dan is working at a literary journal, Jenny is spending time with her new squeeze, and Vanessa might
Blair moves in with Serena and they're back to being best friends. But will the love-fest last or will they end up tearing out one another's newly highlighted hair? And speaking of new, Nate is on the straight and narrow way, playing knight-in-shining-armor to his drug-crazy new girlfriend, Georgie. But he will definitely get more than he bargained for when he, Georgie, Chuck, Erik, Blair and Serena end up hanging out together in Sun Valley, Idaho.

Back in Manhattan Jenny is spending time with a

Spring break is here and love is in the air! Or is that a blend of Chanel no. 9 and Gucci Rush perfume? But reallly is there a difference? Serena and Blair move in together and they're back to being best friends. But will the love-fest last? Or will this friendship last or end up in fighting, that ends up in tearing out one anothers newly highlighted hair? Speaking of new, Nate is on the straight and narrow, playing the "Good Boy" role to his crazy new girlfriend, Georgie. He may get more then h ...more

Von Ziegesar's series about overprivileged Mahattanites moves location, all the way to the ski slopes. And Georgina Sparks is coming along for the ride, as well as the rest of the GG girl crew: Blair, Serena, Nate, Chuck Bass, etc.
Georgina does not need to be in the books. She first appeared in Because I'm Worth It, since Nate's whole weed smoking incident. He met her at the clinic and she pulled him into her world of self-destruction. Blair grimly calls her the "Miu Miu shorts slut" prior to th

Hey all you wonderful Gossip Girl fans, it's Alfreda again, and I am just here to give you the scoop on the latest Gossip Girl book that I have read. Ok well the last book was amazing as many of you know, it had lots of drama and more drama, and did I mention drama? Anyway this book is even more intense then other one I told you about. In this book they had drama with more couples of course, they had drama with themselves too. So if you enjoyed the first essay, I just know that you'll love this ...more
This book is filled with intense drama!! This book takes gossiping to a new level where the stories barely seem realistic. I really wish I could meet the author of Gossip Girl and see why she would write such a book like this. Hidden within the gossip there is a lot of dramatic stories that seem to me unrealistic. If I were to meet the author I would want to ask her why her books seem to promote teenagers having sex and how she feels about that since she does her own children. In the book for ex ...more
Wow! What an ending! (Although I won't spoil it for those who haven't read it)

This book focuses on our favourite Upper East Siders over the course of Spring break. As always, there are new romances, fights, and plenty of drama. Serena frustrated me in this book, however, due to her constant need for attention and urge to do something wild (which, of course, Georgie catches on to - another character who lacks depth).

The love the reader feels for the characters seems to grow, though, which is quit

Serios, foarte cool.

Another book finished, and SO many things have changed in the storyline. I honestly don't even want to say that I know exactly how a character is going to act when they turn around and suprise me in the following book! The only thing I can sort of seem to count on happening is the fact that gilmoregirl is still anonymous and loving it. I love it too. No need to spoil all the fun!
I only started reading the books because I miss the TV show. But I have to say that I liked the TV much more. I never thought I'd prefer a movie/show ahead the books, and then these came. I think I'll finish the book series because I've already started them, but I was expecting much more than what I've found.

“Not that she didn't love almost every boy she'd ever met, and not that every boy in the world didn't totally love her. It was impossible not to. But she wanted someone to love her and shower her with attention the way only a boy who was completely in love with her could. The rare sort of love. True love. The kind of love she'd never had.” 318 likes
