In soccorso di Edmund

Edmund Fitz Clare Chronicles n. 2.

Emma Holly continues her Fitz Clare trilogy with this book that picks up on the cliffhanger ending of KISSING MIDNIGHT. Once again it was a read that I couldn't put down. The book builds upon the characters that we were introduced to in the first book, KISSING MIDNIGHT, and introduces us to some new characters that are sure to play major roles in the third book, SAVING MIDNIGHT. Ms. Holly does a wonderful job of keeping the story going and keeping the reader in suspense as to what will happen ne...more

E’ un altro rom...more

sesso,sesso,sesso... e poi?

I scrambled to obtain this book because I read the one in the series just before this one, and it ended in a cliffhanger, BIG time (the hero missing and in grave danger, pun intended). This story, which I believe is #7, is a good deal darker than many of Holly's books, with very little to lighten it. However, it does right some of the wrongs from book #6, which is satisfying, but all is still NOT well in the Fitz Clare's world. I believe I am satisfied to leave things as they are now, though, so...more

Really 3.5 starts, as this book has me wanting to go find the last in the series (and possibly the first, since I hadn't read it).

Considering this was the second in the series, there were certainly some holes, but nothing severe enough to detract from the adventure, the developing characters and the sex. Oh, and the plot -- and yes, there was a plot, and sub-plots, that drove the story, making for an enjoyable journey (with lots of hot sex) to the predictable conclusion.

I realised that I had read before
basic storyline was interesting but relied heavily on previous book which I have not read....
Always a problem when borrowing books from library

Skipped a fair bit....
(view spoiler)[

the basis of story is that a master vampire Edmund, has adopted human children to be his family
but he does not intend to change them

but circumstances change and children grow up

One is changed to save is life Robin

one is changed because he asked for it George

Not quite sure why Ben was bi

Sex go go !!

Edmund Fitz Clare has been kidnapped for nefarious reasons. His adopted family - Sally, Graham and Ben - are doing what they can to find him. Though they aren't really siblings, there is some incestuous behavior going on and one of the three has turned vampire in an effort to further help Edmund.

I didn't like this installment as much as the others though I can't for the life of me explain why. I didn't really like Graham and Pen just isn't trustworthy. I feel she's going to come back to bite the...more

I didn't like this much at all at first. Didn't realize it was well into a series - so took awhile to get to know the characters. jumped into sex pretty quick and was kind of crude. By the end of the book I liked it more and I'd probably try another one at some point.

I'd rate this about 2.5 stars. I didnt like it enough to be interested in the rest of the series but I did like most of the characters. It was kind of boring to tell the truth. So far the best Holly book I've read has been All U Can Eat. The rest are ho hum for me.

Still liking this series, but not my favorite Emma Holly books (there are so many of hers to like!). Edmund isn't very central in this book, but I don't mind it because I don't love him. He should be the central vampire character that bespells us all, but he doesn't me for some reason. I love Ben and Sally and their story. Plus this book introduces Pen who I just adore! Plus her story with Graham is freaking hot! I think Graham and Ben's sex is hotter than Edmund's has gotten, so perhaps that is...more

I really liked this trilogy by Emma Holly. Very likable characters, hot sex, and an action-filled plot.

I like the historical setting - pre-WWII, there are very hot scenes and it is just fun

Not enough story, too much smexing to hold my interest. i quit it at 100 pages and I quit the series.

Again, three reviews, one blog entry:

All in all, I was left panting for the third installment -- thank goodness, it only came out a few weeks later.

This series just keeps getting better - I love that I can't always predict how it will end or what will happen next!

I love the Midnight books. This was just as riveting as the others. Can't wait to read Saving Midnight.

A good action/adventure tale disguised as a paranormal romance.

I'm a USA Today bestselling author who LOVES the hot stuff, both to read and to write. My favorite obsessions are all things coffee, almost everything on HGTV, and dreaming up new stories.
