Wow. My girl Megan has been pimping Kallysten out to me for a while and to be honest I wasn't really that interested. I am a huge erotic romance fan, but it takes a really good writer to mingle a good balance of storyline and sex - then when I found out this was only 9200 words....I was already convinced that it wouldn't rate highly with me.

But my Megan knows her smut and she was absolutely right. This was a great read. And yes it was extremely short, but Kallysten had the ability to w...more

I so love Kallysten's work! I first heard of it on http://madamedsboudoir.blogspot.com/ I knew the synopsis of this book pretty well before I read it and I was happy that it held up to the hype! You can read the story behind the book here http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...

After reading the Out of the Box series I just HAD to learn what the story was with Brett, Leo and Lisa. They're appearance in those stories had piqued my interest.

The club On The Edge was only 3 months old but it had bee...more

This is a quick and short introduction into the life of Brett, and his vampire girlfriend Lisa. Together they seem to have a near perfect life: his club is thriving with her input of ideas and cash, and he is completely besotted. Sex is amazing and earth shattering, and being able to watch his ‘woman’ tease and enchant patrons at the club is a massive turn on, since she comes home to him. Always.

An encounter with a vampire from her past, Leo, has Brett seeing (and smelling to the vamps) a bit g...more

Following her advice he decides to interview for more bar staff. After a very uneventful day of interviews Brett retires to his apartment above the club to spend time with Lisa. However, she has different plans and goes back downstairs to hunt. Unable to resist watching her in action Brett follows Lisa to the dance floor to admire her work. What he did...more

How this story came to be...

One of the scenes of my first novel CheckMate takes place in the club "On The Edge", which I described as a place where humans and vampires meet. On a whim, I also added a throwaway sentence about the owner of the club living with two vampires.

Or at least, I thought it was a throwaway line. But it nagged me and bugged me for months until I finally sat down to figure out who was this club owner, and who were the two vampires who shared his life and bed.

The characters...more

Ok, so this book is relatively short, coming in around 9200 words, under 40 pages. Right off the bat it starts with a sexy shower scene - my favorite! I don't know what it is, but the water, the steam, the whole thing just sets me off. Here we meet Brett and Lisa, human and vampire, respectively. And as it turns out, they are in a relationship, eleven months so far.

I felt like they were really great together. They had a playfulness, and you could still see they cared for each other beyond that f...more

On The Edge was sexy as hell short read!

Brett, Lisa, and Leo are highly dynamic together and I immediately had to get the next book in the series to see where things led. This book left you wanting something more........in a great way!

Kallysten is a writer of romance novels and short stories, most of them with paranormal elements.

Her first eBooks were published by Linden Bay Romance in 2005. The defunct Venus Press subsequently published a few of her short stories. Because so many of her stories are linked as series and part of the same universe, she decided it would make sense to have them all in the same place, which is why s...more
