This was a wonderful read. It's a large oversized book. All the photos are black and white. Where available, there are layouts of each mansion, as well as photos of interiors and exteriors. What amazed me was the number of mansion that were built and then torn down within a 50-year block of time. The other realization that strikes one reading this book is just how many millionaires there were in the era before income taxes. And just how much expendable income was available to lavish on their man ...more
