Little Bear, Big Bear, Big Bear, Little Bear, twenty times per page! Argh! Would it be so hard to give them names?!

11/09: It's a sweet book featuring a father-son walk through the woods.

Inside Cover:
While exploring in the forest with Big Bear, Little Bear sets out on his own adventures. All by himself, he finds rocks to climb and branches to bounce on -- and every step of the way, Big Bear is nearby to praise him for a job well done. But when Little Bear tries to cross a stream, he finds himself in trouble. Of course, Big Bear is there to lend a hand -- and gently reassure Little Bear.

A reassuring tale about Little Bear and Big Bear, who go exploring in the woods. Little Bear is by turns nervous and brave, and sometimes things don't quite go as he would hope, but Big Bear is always there for him to help him over the little bumps in the way, and to offer encouragement. A sweet and snuggly story that will be perfect for children just venturing out on their own not-quite-independent adventures.

I like the Little Bear books, so the rating is more for the series than for this individual book, which is not my favourite. Little Bear wants to explore on his own ... with Big Bear close at hand to rescue him when he overreaches himself. These are lovely, gentle books about a little one learning about the world and spreading his wings from the safety of a loving relationship with a "Big Bear".

Love the pictures. A cute story of trusting a care-giver to always be there for you. Not quite what I was looking for in my RA search, but a sweet book that has a place and will be good to keep in mind (especially on parental holidays).

Big Bear and Little Bear go out for a walk in the woods. Little Bear is very independant and can always count on Big Bear to help him out of trouble. Sweet.

I don't agree with Publisher's Weekly review that included "move over Goodnight Moon". Cute book. but why oversell a children's book?

Sort of a cute story, but the repetition of "Little Bear said..." "Big Bear said..." just clutters up the message.

These were some of the first books that I learned to read. Subtle encouragement passages.
