These two Christian women, one an Episcopalian, the other a Plymouth Brethren who converted to Episcopalianism, have been fast friends for many years. In this book they discuss life and friendship and religion. It is an easy book to pick up and browse through, but I read every word, mostly since I have always loved Madeleine L’Engle’s work, both adult and children’s. The company owned by Lucy’s first husband has published many of Madeleine’s adult books. There is a lot of food for thought

A mix of prose and poetry, "Friends for the Journey" is a meditative view of how friendships tick, from the viewpoints of Luci Shaw and Madeleine L'Engle. Though a bit reachy at moments, the overall timbre of the book is really gracious.

This book is what being friends is all about, a beautiful telling of two friends by two friends and not to mention one really scrumptous hot milk sponge cake recipe!
