He was a gentleman. . .

In tuxedo and bow tie, Jordan Tavistock was the unlikeliest burglar. But when a chum asked him to steal back some X-rated love letters from her ex-lover's estate, he had no choice but to oblige. He never expected to get caught... by another thief.

She was a wanted Woman...

Despite her protests, Diana Lamb was too sleek to be anything but a cat burglar.

Extremely predictable plot, a female protagonist that made me want to bash my head into a wall and a completely unbelievable romance. I'm trying to think back to when I read the first book and if it was this bad, since I remember liking it. But then again I was fifteen, so maybe these books are more suited for teenagers.
In favor of this book, it isn't too long and it's easy to read. If I had brain damage, I might have enjoyed it more.

Recommends it for: No one except those who's a fan of historical romance because this feels like it
Hmmm what can i say about this book... That i regret spending any money to buy this book even though it's on sale and that I hope Gerritsen's Rizzoli and Isles series are nothing like this. Because if it is, i might as well donate them all.

The reason i bought this book was because i heard good things about the rizzoli and isles series, so when i saw this book in the 3 for 2 bargain bins at Borders, I bought three of Gerritsen's earlier books. but this is nothing like the mystery-thriller type of

It's not the worst book I've ever read but it's definitely no where near the best! I found the character of Clea fairly annoying and the romance with Jordan really didn't move me at all. Nothing really special I'm starting to wonder what all the fuss about Tess Gerritsen is actually about. This book is like a bad Mills and Boon and most Mills and Boon books are bad!

I've heard Rizzoli and Isles is better but I'm yet to discover if that's true. This has kind of put me off.

It's pretty obvious that "Stolen" is one of the first works of Gerritsen. Was not a thriller or detective kind but was an adventure novel, can be read with delight.

Tess Gerritsen's Rizzoli Isles series is one of my favorites. Unfortunately this isn't of the same standard. Nice escapist read on holiday but pretty predictable.

When Jordan Tavistock found himself in the unenviable position of first time burgler, he didn’t expect to be caught. But caught he was, and not by the inhabitants of the house, no, by another burgler! Clea Rice had burgled before, she had spent time in prison for past misdeeds, but she didn’t expect to have her plans thwarted by a bumbling, noisy amateur. As they escaped the house together, Clea without what she came for and Jordan with what he came for, he didn’t realize his aristocratic life h ...more

"Thief of Hearts" by Tess Gerritsen
(from back cover)

He was a gentleman bandit, she was a cat burglar. And they caught each other in more ways than one. But their desire was as strong as their distrust, and Jordan Tavistock began to fear that Diana Lamb was more than just a thief of hearts.........

MY THOUGHTS: This is the second book by Tess Gerritsen that I have read. I liked this one just as much as the first one. You may ask how one book can be a Conspiracy Thriller and a Romance Thriller at t

The Thief of Hearts is Tess Gerritsen’s 10th stand-alone novel. Jordan Tavistock, doing a favour for a friend, encounters a very attractive female thief whilst himself trying to steal some letters from a local wealthy playboy’s bedroom. Soon, Jordan chances upon Clea Rice again, and after a narrow escape from an exploding car, their destinies seem to become irrevocably entwined. While Clea thinks Jordan would be safer leaving her to fend for herself, Jordan isn’t about to let that happen. Lots o ...more

Genre: Adolescent, Romantic, Thrivel (thriller/Drivel). The first Tess Gerritsen book I read was great, it was one of the most recent. Most of the earlier books (Stolen included) have been mediocre.

Another trashy love novel with a bit of adventure on the high seas. An easy read.

Not the usual tess standard

I quite liked it. I was expecting the worst as people have said her older writing isn't nearly as good as her newer novels. Picking it up it is stamped as a Mills & Boons which I loved as an young teenager and to be honest it had much more pace and story than the Mills & Boons I remember. There is a good plot surrounded with murder and mystery aswell as emotions and attractions. Overall a 3 out of 5 for me, easy and good read.

Written in 1995 and standing the test of time in 2011 when I read it. I loved the intrigue and the plot twists and most importantly, the main characters, Clea and Jordan.

Somewhere around the middle of the book Jordan muses that Clea attracts trouble like iron filings to a magnet. So true! Trouble follows her everywhere, sometimes of her own making, and the only trouble she's actually ponders is losing Jordan. So sweet.
The Cats Mother
The follow-on from the equally silly "In Their Footsteps", this is obviously her earlier work, re-branded as a thriller instead of romance, in the light of her later success. It feels like it's written by a school-girl and makes very little sense, also it's written by an American but set in a 90s version of an Agatha Christie world of aristocrats and spies. Good if you have nothing else to read on a plane.

This book was ok - I've enjoyed other books by this author alot more. Since I listened to the audio version, I believe it was the narration that semi distracted me from the story itself. The lady narrating did an almost comical job on some of the voices - my goodness. Anyway - the story itself was good enough to keep me listening to the end. I didn't hate it - but I certainly didn't love it.

This is the first I've read from tess gerritsen. The story was somewhat predictable, but nevertheless interesting. There were some twist and turns here and there which made the storyline even more enjoyable. Other than that, the book was quite straightforward with a tint of romance between the two main characters which i thought was a bit cliche. Nonetheless, a well deserved 4 out of 5.

Good book was hoping that the villain would face justice.

Couldn't put it down -- wonderful
Simon Parsons
Very poor - plot was predictable and convenient, and there was only one point that could be classed as a twist. The only positive was that you can get by reading every other paragraph, so could get to the end quicker. Last Tess Gerritsen I will read.
Wilde Sky
A cargo ship is sunk and its crew murdered. A woman is determined that the truth be told and enlists the help of a young aristocrat to help her.

Not a bad story, but the constant references to the upper class and ‘love story’ elements were annoying.
Jackie Hayter
Tess Gerritsen meets Jeffrey Archer. This book is very enjoyable, and completely different from anything else I have read from Tess Gerritsen. A bit predictable, and a little flimsy, but a great light read to pass a Sunday afternoon.
