Any red blooded American girl worth her salt will admit to being infatuated with one or more of her male high school teachers, but what might have happened if that innocent fascination were taken to the next level? On impulse, high school teacher, Grant Chapman, kisses young Shelley Browning and gets more than he bargains for. Her heartfelt response surprises him and Grant swiftly does the right thing, leaving Shelley behind for a new life as a Congressional aide in Washington, DC.

I enjoyed the book, it was short & enjoyable and kind of had a forbidden aspect to it because they were student/teacher but older. The heroine was finally getting a degree after her divorce & was kind of bitter about men, after all she put her husband through school, was practically a servant for him, then he left.
She's quite happy to see her old high-school teacher since she had a major crush on him and somewhere deep within her he is the man she's always compared everyone More...

Horrible! Horrible! Horrible!
This book was so cheesy it's almost embarrassing. I had a real problem with how the couple first meets-he's a high school teacher, she's one of his students-and even though they don't get together until years later, their relationship is still just creepy. He's forever following her around, totally ignoring anything she says, and she's always whining about how they can't be together and fighting(but not too hard)any time he tries to touch her. Ugh, so tacky More...

so, I finished this book and not quite sure how I felt about it. This is a spoiler alert, but this young girl had a high school crush on one of her teachers. She found him again when she went back to college and decided to take his class, of course she was still attracted to him and she found out that he was attracted to her as well, they went out, had an affair and then got married. I think the thing that creeps me out about this story is that she was a kid in high school and he was her teacher More...

Wow. Um, yeah. There is a lot of sex in this 'classic love story', that made me glad no one else was listening to what I had on my iPhone. What's funnier is that my Mom got me this book from the small town library I used to visit as a child during noon hours. Never realized they had such racy stuff in there!

Aside from that, and the fact this romance was initiated when the girl was 16, it's still nice to hear a story about a patient, trusting & true love between two people.

Sandra Brown kembali memukauku dengan kepintarannya merangkai cerita. Cerita - cerita yang menakjubkan lahir dari ide-ide dan tangannya yang cekatan. Sempat menyesal baru sekarang mulai baca bukunya. Tapi ya better late than never, right? :)

A Kiss Remembered , buku ke3 Sandra Brown yang kubaca bulan Februari 2011 ini, setelah sebelumnya aku membaca Long Time Coming dan Demon Rumm.

Meskipun setelah itu Grant meninggalkan kota m More...

This book was awful. In the book I read, it said it was copyright in 1983... but the author's note said it was written 20 years earlier. So... was it written in '63 or '83? I'm hoping it was written in 1963. Otherwise, this story took place shortly after I graduated from college and it did not ring true at all to me. 1963 - perhaps.

I made a connection to Barefoot by Elin Hilderbrand. Quite a different way the university in that story handled the relationship between professor and stude

This romance tells the story of a young woman who gets involved with a man from her past. Ten years prior, he was a handsome teacher in her high school. Now, he is her college professor and seems to think it's OK to persue her. A fairly predictable light read, and a bit outdated since it was written in 1983.

What can I say???????????
I thought this book would be a lot better than it was for some reason.
It was more or less just like a Mills & Boon though so definitely NOT my style.
Funnily enough though I can't let a book defeat me so had to finish it. frustrated all the way through and couldn't wait to end it!!!

Couldn't continue reading this one. Trolling through the audiobooks at my library you just never know until you try it...well, this one lost me when our protagonist says "no" but she means yes.

I didn't realize I had picked something from the romance genre. If this is representative, what a disappointment.

Laughable and petty. Anyone can tell how dated it is when the female lead character (whenever she's not getting it on with the dude) fantasizes over the male lead character's forest-y chest and --I'm not done yet-- he likes to show off his hairy torso in the classroom (he's the professor) wearing an almost-all-the-way unbuttoned shirt tucked into tight jeans and cowboy boots (however, the story does take place in Oklahoma). I get the whole "I lust after teacher" vibe, but if a teacher More...

This is certianly a classic love story with tennets that are uncommon in today's Love Stories, that is most likely the main reason I rated this book so low.

It is not to say that I would not read another Sandra Brown book - she has been on my "Second Chance Author" list for a while. I was intrigued with her writting style when I read Smoke Screen, the combination of intrigue and romance kept me turning pages until the very last.

That said, this book was a quick w More...

This is a hard book for me to critique because I won this book from goodreads and so I feel like I should say something great about it. Truthfully it was just ok for me - I think mainly because it was first published back in 1983 and reading through the story I found it a little outdated. I also found it a bit hard to take that a teacher would be with a student and think it was alright. But that is the great thing about reading books - you get other people's perspectives on things. I liked the e More...

Sandra Brown is a favorite author of mine, though her latest novels feature too little romance for my taste. This is one of her earlier works when romance was all she wrote.

what a POC. I really need to stop going back and reading books published early in an author's career. It makes me dislike an author I previously enjoyed.

I found this book really hard to rate. I enjoyed it but it was very raunchy and by the end I was feeling that the sex overshadowed everything else. Despite what the characters asserted, I wonderedif they really had any more to theri relationship than lust.

The author was kind enough to send another book with this; it will be interesting to see if I get on better with that one as it is a different genre and suggests it has more to it.

I fervently wish I could give a negative star rating to this horrible book. Taken off the shelves at the library at random, I abandoned this book part way though. Formulaic, poorly written, (even for a romance), a reinforcement of the steroetype that all women are weak and waiting to be rescued; a total waste of time. I will now open the book at random and type a line demonstrating how awful it is. Page 154: "Never be ashamed of what you are, and show your gratitude by never doubting th More...
