This book challenged some of the most popular "rules" in the Christian dating world. For example, the popular idea of early stage Christian dating is to go out in a "group date". Illian challenges this notion by arguing that this pattern weakens men's role to be the leader and initiator in a relationship. So in the positive side, the book promotes a more balanced view of a godly relationship instead of a rigid and legalistic one.

On the down side, I considered some of his opinions to be too libe
There is definitely some sound advice in this book. And I thought that Jason Illian did a pretty good job of giving you truth without sounding boring, defensive or preachy. There were a couples aspects of this book that I didn't quite agree with, but overall I found it uplifting and filled with solid sentiments of wisdom. I would probably recommend this book.

*Taken from my book reviews blog:
I went to elementary school and junior high with Jason, so I figured I'd read his book! I thought this might be a post-Bachelor PR stint, but he's actually got a lot of great things to say about dating in the Christian world. In fact, I have to admit it's one of the better books addressing relationships for those who are following Christ. As an added bonus, he writes with the sharp humor I remember him having in grade school.

Recommends it for: young adults, parents
This instilled in me realism in honoring our Lord with our bodies, the sanctity between two people, that love and passion are linear to our Father and future spouse!
Would recommend this book to any single person thinking about dating? It has a very out of the box approach yet easy to understand and can be applied to one's life!
