This doesn't seem like the type of read that deserves stars. The statement, written in 1962 by 21 yr-old Tom Haden, became the basis for SDS. Most of what is written reads like many blogs found all over the net today from critics from the left. Things change; things stay the same. Tom Hayden's manifesto is an edifying plea for peace written 3 years prior to the Vietnam conflict and subsequent counterculture shifts in American politics.

However, many of the problems he focuses on either still exist (nuclear proliferation, a permanent war economy, pseudo-democrats) or have come full circle in the 21st century (Neo-McCarthyism aka the USA Patriot Act).
