This book, along wiht A is for Asia, H is for Hoosier, B is for Buckeye, and I is for invention, are all good books to introduce an alphabet book project. These books are full of good ideas and a rubric would be much better understood if an example such as this was read as a read aloud. These books can get long so maybe a couple of letters at a time would be a good decision depending on the class behavior.
