Technophobes might as well move on to the next review. I loved this book. It explained in clear, precise language how innumerable barriers were overcome by innovative and insightfully brilliant individuals to create a device that revolutionized our lives. This book was at it's best dealing with the personalities involved in and historical context surrounding the microchip. The science and engineering explanations were surprisingly clear and down to earth, but just a little old-hat since it's what I do every day. I wonder what a non-electrical engineer would make of them...
