Ugh!!! This is only a 250 page book, and the author spends the first 150 or so pages complaining about the current medical paradigm. I agree with him completely, but I got the book because it was titled Medical Aromatherapy. It should be changed to The Current Medical Paradigm Sucks! Now he does give some history of aromatherapy, but we don't get to the goods on the actual essential oils until chapter 12. There are only 13 chapters in the book. Don't be distracted by the title, this isn't a standard textbook. it does talk about the chemistry of essential oils it's but it feels almost incidental. Instead this is a book about the need to move towards a holistic healthcare system which integrates other therapies including aromatherapy. And don't panic, its not suggesting we only use essential oils and is clearly opposed to those far out, crackpot ideas.
