It's a well written book, but who wants to read about the new Flash, who never wears his costume!?

For me, honestly, this was a pretty weak story for the Flash :(
Bart has problems accepting himself... okay, like so many teenagers do.. get over it and accept who you are! :D
No, this one goes into my "not so great as I hoped for" pile...

DC puts a new face in the classic Flash costume in the One Year Later volume by Danny Bilson. Following Wally West's disappearance during the Infinite Crisis, Central City is without its Flash. Golden-age hero Jay Garrick is doing what he can, but time is no longer on his side. Enter the former teen sidekick Kid Flash - Bart Allen - who is now mysteriously 4 years older and terrified of being consumed by his intense speed. Plagued by self-doubt and fear, Bart refuses to take up the Flash mantle; ...more

This was pretty rough; the writers Bilson and DeMeo have had a history with the Flash TV show which I enjoy, but their take on the character here (which is a brand new Flash...guh, the fourth one!) seems more preoccupied in PTSD and really horrific bro-speak in this first arc. Basically Bart is freaked out about becoming the Flash since he can't control his powers, a new vigilante hits town who used to be Bart's roomie (convenient!). There is a tiny blossoming romance with Val which is cutely ch ...more

Ugh, the editors at DC must be crazy. They sped headlong from the best Flash stories I've ever read from Geoff Johns, straight into this pile of garbage. Some of the worst writing I've ever had the displeasure of reading. Getting rid of Wally and trying to turn Bart into DC's Peter Parker was just hideous in form and execution, leaving aside the creative bankruptcy. I'm so glad they kill him off in the next book.

Podría haber sido mejor, podría haber sido peor. Algunas ideas interesantes y otras tantas mal aprovechadas. Lástima que el fracaso de esta serie hiciera que pronto todo volviera a ser más de lo mismo y que precipitara una resurrección de lo más indeseable.

A life traveling at lightning speeds faster than Superman, is harder than it must graphic novel, for fans of The Flash.

Story wasn't interesting at all, which is a shame because I like Flash. I did enjoy the art though, so 2/5 for that.
