This is a series of vignettes that sheds a closer spotlight on events that happen in other books in the Secret Invasion series, and as such is best read if you are going all in...and reading the entire event. Without reading the other books, the stories probably will seem meaningless, but if you ARE reading the event, the stories fill in some gaps here and there, which is nice. The Discover section of the Marvel website has the books in the order they should probably be read.

This is hard to review as a book, as it is a mixture of comics work, text articles, and encyclopaedia. As a book to be read on its own, it's not very good. Everything in it is geared towards supporting the Marvel Secret Invasion storyline of several years back, so makes little sense to anyone not up on that.
As a tie-in though, it is very good. The short stories at the beginning are very good, the history of the Skrulls throughout Marvel's books is interesting, and the interviews, text pieces, an

I've been working my way through the major Marvel crossovers, with the latest being Secret Invasion. This book popped up as a recommendation at some point along the way and I ordered a copy.

The book starts out promising. It opens with a few stories that lead directly into events that are depicted in the main event. For example, the SWORD space station is attacked and Agent Brand ends up outside the station in a protective bubble. Here, we see her in the bubble reflecting on how she got to that p

My first thought when finishing this? It was where they slapped all the stuff related to Secret Invasion that didn't fit anywhere else.

There were about 4 actual stories in here and the rest of the book was just endless background on the event and the skrull. Which I guess is cool if your a completest or really needed to about every appearance of ever skrull character ever. But that's not me.

5 stories, Capt. Marvel attacks The Thunderbolts...Abigail Brand must survive the SWORD explosion, Marvel Boy takes out Skrull in his prison, Agents of Atlas? Idk...and Wonder Man must trust Beast from the Savage Land ship...which one is real and which is Skrull, or both real? Or Both Skrulls?

One read early in the sequence.

Another time waster like Civil War Companion, Who Do You Trust is a highlight and recap of the events in the crossover, it features nothing new and was tedious to read to say the least.
